It's fascinating to me how certain Christians try hard to hold onto the identity of "sinner", even though that's not what God says.

Since people become what they believe, some Christians, believing the lie that they are sinners, continue to struggle with sin.

When a person believes the truth, that they are no longer sinners but children of God and new creatures in Christ Jesus, then they realize the truth, that their previous sin identity was crucified with Christ when they accepted Jesus as their Lord and savior.

But in case you don't believe me, don't trust, verify the scriptures about the transition from the old identity as sinner to the new identity as a child of God, and the change in fundamental nature that takes place.
