I have not! I'll put it on my want to read shelf. Here's my goodreads, btw:

Some of the stuff I read is a little degen, haha... I really like alien romance novels.
That's cool! I really like filter wine, it's a fantastic way to trim down your relays
That's because Alex Jones was right!
lol, I'm very much a furry. I'm not a total degenerate though, link is safu, and I try to keep things here SFW. And hey, if I post something you didn't want to see, there's always the mute button.
There are, there's even a list at btcfur.com 😹
Does anyone here know of good ways to find people to follow here on Nostr that are into and post about similar topics? I've got friends who are freedom-minded, but their entire personality is not "I'm into Bitcoin", and I'm wondering how they might get more into Nostr.
Exactly, and also, some of the most principled and optimistic people I've ever met.
Just closed my Venmo account. It's messed up they can just change the rules on people retroactively. I wonder if this will open any eyes. What's worse is that Venmo lets the buyer select whether this is a business tx. So, you have to trust anyone paying you to not mark the income as reportable.
Anyway, if anyone here doesn't yet know how to be free of financial surveillance, you know who to talk to.

I've found the same thing... Lightning saves me fees in a number of ways, one is that I'll open a channel just in case I need it in the future, knowing that once it's mined I can access those funds instantly whenever I need them.
The person with concerns about the power consumption of "crypto"
If you're here to shill stakecoins for the yield, that's scamming
lol, we may be furries, but at least we aren't shitcoiners
scam in hell, cryptofag
Haha, I'll try not to get my hopes up, you never know how the quality of things turn out in the fiat system.
I was stoked when I figured out to run the new remastered Diablo 2 in Linux. Worked great in LAN multiplay with my husband, who also grew up playing the game. I played a good amount of Diablo 3... I'm also really looking forward to Diablo 4.
Crowdhealth is very cool. But they're standing up against one of those Keynesian, violence-fueled Beasts...
I've noticed that people see some things they think are really messed up, and so they won't take the time to learn about them, because they think nothing they can do can change that.
Only once I realized I *could* do something, did I really start learning.
I have too many relays x3
It's because of patent law that healthcare is so expensive. Drug companies and medical equipment manufacturers use the state as a cudgel to strengthen their monopoly, exploit the vulnerable, and extract wealth.
Then people are convinced to make excuses for billion dollar corporations, oh no, they won't innovate, there won't be new drugs, how will they recoup costs?
And I'm here like, we can't just separate R&D from manufacture? Trade associations are a thing. The industry could pool resources to maximize value. It's not like demand for new drugs is going away.
Anyway. That's the kind of thing that runs though my head when I see drug advertisements. It's silly, this whole system is super silly. I feel like I'm taking supersillium.
Bitcoin is an issue that transcends politics, because when bankers steal our wealth by inflating the currency, everyone who buys food at the grocery store feels that.
Bitcoin automates the bankers' jobs so they can never manipulate the system in their favor again.
Whether January 6th was a peaceful protest or an attack on democracy is irrelevant, because objectively, it doesn't matter. None of it matters. It's just a bunch of nonsense They want us to be mad about. But there's no sense in being mad about it, or spending time on it, it's all a distraction from the mission:
Hardening the protocol. Building what's needed. Gaining adoption. Communicating the message. And maybe the message of Bitcoin is that we can opt out. No longer do we have to be amateur Wall St speculators, part-time economists, political philosophers or pundits. We can just get on zero, tune it all out, and be friends with each other.
The only thing that's in my control is to focus on what matters to me: Fixing the money, so that maybe we have a shot at fixing all the other things wrong in the world.
And ultimately, where one spends their time is an investment. And like I wouldn't put my money in stocks or shitcoins, I won't invest my time in getting caught up in politics.
