Just noticed, it'll be 800000 in about 6 hours! IYKYK
Agreed. I wonder if they use something similar to Bitcoin, but maybe powered by a Dyson sphere, and linked to other star miners using quantum teleporters. Something fun to imagine. A whole network of stars linked together by energy-money.
Right, even if I could conjure up entire spaceships at the push of a button, and rare artifacts can be reconstructed atom-for-atom Ship of Theseus-style, and an exacting AI simulacrum can be created of just about anyone, there still will need to be a way to convince others to do something they ordinarily wouldn't do, if only so that those people can have a means to convince others they might one day want a favor from. Further, energy-money could be a very interesting use-case, and with sufficiently high amounts of proof of work, the less there is a difference between energy and money.
This is really cool!
That sounds awesome!
You know, there's a really good article on that ;3

I wonder if the aliens use money
I thought Caitlyn tried that
Heck, they won't even allow full reserve banks to exist even with dollars
We all do our part to make Bitcoin stronger. The protocol might be automated, but it still requires plenty of work from stakeholders. Bitcoin doesn't need you, but it's all the better with you.
Made the same tweet and nostr note.
Note: 5 likes, 210 sats
Tweet: 10 likes, 0 sats
Plus I pay about 20k+ sats per month for Twitter, so I'm losing sats with that platform (though I've also supported plenty of paid relays, too)
We'e come full circle, lol!
Our code contains few comments, and recently that left room for ambiguity which was caught in code review. I added an assertion and error condition to catch the ambiguity, but I realized; if I had written a comment, would I have ever come to write the code to handle this error condition?
Lesson:
Don't comment your code, just write more code. There are lies, damn lies, and then there's documentation.
I wish, there's some good frameworks like Dioxus and Iced, but right now we just bundle the bitmask-core WASM binary into a React app using webpack. In the future we might start building more of our UI inside of WASM just to see if that speeds things up.
This is news to me! Which jurisdictions are these?
In a furry chat I started a while back, someone posted a hammer & sickle, or as I think of them, the "soviet swastika". I told them it was tasteless and the cause of much death and misery and I'd rather not have it in the chat. They pushed back, saying, hasn't the dollar done the same thing? Will you ban images of the dollar? And I thought about it for a moment, and I responded:
"I'm fine with that. It's well-known that debasement of the petrodollar is used to fund the military industrial complex to fight forever wars."
They weren't mad, in fact, they were impressed by my consistency.
I think many a Bitcoiner would be hard-pressed to disagree with me there, either. After all, we understand better than anyone, the dollar is not synonymous with the practice of capitalism.
In many ways, becoming a Bitcoiner lends a sense of perspective that transcends traditional politics. That said, if you want to add a new opcode to Core, things might get a little contentious.
That was quick! Much respect to your mad meme skillz
