Good old KYC (Kill Your Customer)
So, what happened to Point Time Locked Contracts (PTLCs)?
It's nice to have a control group
I am beyond proud to announce that nostr:nprofile1qqsz9hgxrsfcjfh2p2phdu34uelgz08p97ufnhyt83xyvkmwfxw7t6qpzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgqg5waehxw309aex2mrp0yhxummnw3ezuumrqvy4ua is now an nostr:nprofile1qqs0rxy6jmt44guxkny8z4pkym9mxckqxfytygxuntjn6l80hj409sgpzamhxue69uhkxcfwdaexzmn8v4cxjmrv9ejx2aspzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgwarhxr Bitcoin Development Fund grantee.
Evento is a not-for-profit, completely FREE events platform that anyone can use to organize events that bring communities together.
Weâre leveraging freedom tech like #bitcoin and soon #nostr to ensure the platform is accessible to all.
Evento has already become the platform of choice for global conferences, bitdevs, bitcoin university clubs, hackathons, and so much more.
So, how will we use this grant?
â To support event organizers in the global south that educate their local communities on how Bitcoin, Nostr, and freedom tech can free them from oppression
đïž Build the most accessible events platform in the world specifically for educators, community leaders, nonprofits, activists and everyone in between
đ§Ąđ Integrate Nostr & build the first Bitcoin-powered ticketing platform in the world
We have so much more to build, and now thanks to HRF, we can innovate in a space that has exploited event hosts for far too long.
Give evento a shot! And please feel free to DM me directly on evento.so/bhd with your ideas and feedback - because Iâm building this thing for YOU!
Amazing, looking forward to that nostr sign in :)
I'm pretty sure this is just nostr:nprofile1qqsgydql3q4ka27d9wnlrmus4tvkrnc8ftc4h8h5fgyln54gl0a7dgspp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqpzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgqg4waehxw309aex2mrp0yhx6mmnw3ezuur4vgkhjsen's attempt at stirring controversy in order to drive nostr engagement up đ€Ł
Now nostr:nprofile1qqsgydql3q4ka27d9wnlrmus4tvkrnc8ftc4h8h5fgyln54gl0a7dgspp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfdu0k0t75 is pushing BIP-177 to change satoshis to bitcoin.
Are these people crazy?!
Turning 21 million bitcoin into 2.1 quadrillion âbitcoinsâ isnât just bad brandingâit completely nukes the most important meme in Bitcoinâs history.
This isnât just a bad idea.
Itâs a recipe for confusion, dilution, and long-term cultural fragmentation.
Weâve spent 15 years building absolute clarity around one of the strongest memes in monetary history:
21 million Bitcoin. 100 million satoshis each.
Simple. Elegant. Untouchable.
And now, right on the edge of global adoptionânowâthey want to rewrite the script?
This doesnât feel like UX optimization.
It feels like a narrative hijack.
A subtle takeoverânot of the protocol, but of how people think about Bitcoin.
And thatâs just as powerful.
Maybe Iâm paranoid.
But changing the unit, the name, and the supply right before mass onboarding doesnât just feel tone-deafâit feels strategic.
Like rewriting the map while millions are just beginning to find their way.
Iâve never heard anything more short-sighted, more dangerous, or more fundamentally disconnected from what makes Bitcoin work.
Itâs not a UI bug.
Itâs a memetic monument.
You donât demolish it for clicks, smooth UX, or vanity campaigns.
You protect itâbecause mass adoption is coming.
And what people adopt must be the truth, not a convenient lie wrapped in âaccessibility.â

Waitâyouâre telling me someone had enough time to waste writing a whole BIP for this? In 2025? Things must be pretty slow over at Bitkit
Chill out, that's just his opinion. Everyone is entitled to one and he's not a CEO here, so his isn't more valid/relevant than any other pleb's

Wait, why is amethyst still using it then?
It seems a bit wasteful, no? The "OK" reply with the true value is already a signal to the client that the event was stored.
Nuance. The limit won't stop determined folks who want to put arbitrary commitments on-chain and cause more harm by trying to cimcurvent it. So the right question is: why keep it?
hello world
#foodstr
Good point. But deficit is still worse. With a surplus at least the stealing was transparent.
That the limit is not only ineffective and easily circumvented, but also incentivizes more harmful behavior
