Absolutely. The upside down flag was a great symbol: It’s what ships do to signal emergency. And it was everywhere along the highways that all run through farmland.
Lots more people than farmers could and did get behind it.
As far as I know some farmers sold and others haven’t or won’t. There’s still many left I think.
Not sure about the numbers and no expert on the subject though.

Totally. And I don’t have much trust in any politician anymore. Power corrupts and all that.
But it gave me hope, seeing the movement gain traction with all the upside down flags. It truly felt like a bottom-up resistance movement.

Interesting result was that the BBB (Farmer-Citizen-Movement) became the most popular political party after. So most of the country voted for the farmers and against the current cabinet.
Now the Dutch government has fallen and there’s new elections coming. They might become the biggest party.
