The fact that this issue is related to non-consensus code is at the heart of it I think. On one hand Knots makes it more difficult for non-technical people to spam the chain, but on the other hand technical people know that it does not really prevent anything at the end, so this why there is no end to this debate. Ideally spam would be prevented through consensus code, but it is not case, and probably very difficult to fix at this point. I can appreciate the arguments from both sides, but it seems to be a lot of waste energy.

So why has #IBIT 's BTC/share been droping so much recently, by something like 0.5%?

It will take longer for them to get to the knots node because the tx data will need to get downloaded instead of only being fetched from these nodes' mempool, but they will get accepted nonetheless. For a block to get orphaned you would need a significant fraction of miners that use knots and whose node was still waiting for the last block's tx data to get downloaded at the time they mined a new block?

If you just hook a LED to mains with a resistor you get the flickering from the AC supply. To get rid of the flickering you need to remove the 60 Hz component through DC conversion one way or the other. Much higher PWM control (e.g. 20kHz) is fine too. What can be annoying with LEDs also is how much a point source they are vs incadescent bulbs, which tends to create undesired shadows. They need to be either diffused through a diffuser or a reflector, or you need multiple of them.

LEDs need a current source as opposed to a voltage source. With proper heatsinking and a constrained current they will do just fine. The issue is that bulb manufacturers cut the corners.

The issue is not with LED lights per say, but because most of them are made so cheaply with insufficient heatsinking, and capacitors too small that they end up flickering, overheating and dying way sooner than they should.

I am not saying at all that bitcoin has no value similar to NFTs. What I meant is that Saylor's narrative is similar to the narrative used for the metaverse. Bitcoin is clearly the hardest money that ever existed and it is tied to the physical world through PoW. I think Saylor's efforts to avoid talking about bitcoin as money by pushing it as real estate in the cyberspace is silly.

"Digital property in the cyberspace" is the whole metaverse crap all over again. BS excuse to avoid worrying the Cantillionaires. I can't see how a nocoiner would listen to this and think it totally makes sense.

GM! Always looking for ODell's morning video, either from an era when fiat had not taken its toll on music in geneeal, or from musicians that managed to resist the temptations from today's fiat music industry.

Love Saife and I love what I hear from Milei, but it is not clear to me if the animosity betweem these two is due to other factors than economic matters. Milei has lots of enemies within the establishment and there are also people that might try using him at their advantage, so the Libra crap could definitely be considered as a strike against Milei, but I think he is still a positive voice overall.

Would't a super cycle be more likely if the price was going up slower rather than spiking up fast though, as it would not overextend as much?

I was having lots of issues with #Orbot as well. I used it as a SOCKS5 proxy and it disconnected in the background and did not recover. I switched to Invizible in proxy mode as it seems a lot more stable. Not sure what is the issue with #Orbot, it seems this recovery problem has been around for a while.

Without moving it, maybe there would be a way to tell the user these two network settings are not tied to one nsec as opposed to the privacy settings...
