I paid for a few relays and some clients and important dev projects. I also pay for high-quality content because I want to encourage more of it being created.
I don't mind paying, I mind other heavy users not also paying and making off like bandits.
There's no connection between effort and reward, on here. That's not sustainable. Relay operation is the craziest part, IMO.
The trending stuff and stats makes it feel more like a video game, than a place to have a conversation.

There's also the question of liquidity.
China is the only one with enough liquidity to finance many large transactions and then you get pushed into digital yuan.
Everyone else has to print the money, to transact in the money.
And without dollars, you are outside of the American court system. Which sounds great, until your counterparty fails to pay.
