Real numbers always were way higher, temporary tax lowerings, subsidized train tickets, subsidized energy, etc just made it look less terrible. This is far from over.

It is better to be burdened by people than burdened by regrets.

I'm taxed on my income, then taxed again through sales tax when I spend my income. My already-taxed income faces further taxation, then after purchasing property and paying sales tax, I'm met with property taxes. And to top it all, upon my passing, my children face inheritance tax on funds that were taxed multiple times before.
