There are Buddhist specific recovery groups and programs. For example: https://recoverydharma.org/

Are there Catholic specific recovery programs and/or groups that people who are in recovery utilize and find helpful?

Sounds like the elimination or downgrading of the Church (Shepherds) as the authoritative voice for interpreting the Holy Spirit and leading the faithful (sheep.) While we all can hear the voice of the Holy Spirit by virtue of our baptism and Confirmation, we do not all interpret the Spirit correctly (witness the 10s of thousands or Protestant and Evangelical denominations, all who claim to hear the Holy Spirit.

I've always understood the word church to mean more of a community rather than an institution, building, or hierarchy. Granted, all these have to do with the church, but church to me is the whole enchilada.

A lot of what I understand about synodality makes good basic sense, but a lot of it leaves me scratching my head. Mainly because the way it is being rolled out is confusing and lacking of guidance. Synodality is largely a process or way of facilitating a meeting. And it makes good sense. The part I don't get yet is the actual, final decision making.

You'd hope that the shepherds actually do have the needed training and formation as I hear it called. I keep listening. It's a curious thing. 🤔

What is "Synodality" in context of the Catholic Church? What is the official definition and what do the official documents say? And do you know of good resources that expound on these?
