Tapes were the one! I used to spend hours taping pirate radio back in the day, was more the UK breaks and bleeps stuff before Jungle but those tapes hold such special place. I still think those radio tapes sound better than vinyl. The hiss, interference and compression create such a vibey sound.

I’ve recently been digitising them since I inherited a tape deck.

As a Proton customer I’m worried that this rush of new features leads to Enshitification. As the business grows investors will want to see returns and we’ve seen so many services turn to shit.

Now, if their wallet included some additional privacy features, that would clearly be welcome. But right now it’s not that exciting to me, especially given the loss of privacy going to public ledger without mixing.
