Weird how a Palestinian ended up the patron Saint of England but yet England has been very determined to eradicate Palestine for decades now. I wonder what St George would make of it all...

If your Nostr client sucks (which -- let's just be honest here -- it probably does), head on over to #Jumble, the Working Nostr Client:

https://jumble.social

It now supports yak, pic, and vlog kinds, in addition to freedom polls, microblogging, and articles. And no cringey sidebar, we promise. šŸ¤™šŸ»

It was so over, Nostr.

But we are so back.

GM 😊

Testing. Do you see Phil Collins reacts? This is important. Until Nostr supports Phil Collins emojis on ALL clients, it's doomed to fail. :gppc:

Assuming his name is actually Mike. Mike is exactly the kind of name someone not called Mike would use.

To be honest I don’t watch those but yeah I totally get some people are responding to fear.

When it comes to child abuse, it’s more common for perpetrators to be known to the family, which is even scarier.

I’ve some experience working with victims of abuse. It’s heartbreaking. Plenty of grifters heavily incentivised to cause shit and plenty of people not looking at the issue holistically.

Maybe they’re should be a scoreboard showing abusers working for the BBC vs Abusers from other backgrounds…

I wonder how much knowledge is shared by people who ā€˜heard on a podcast’ vs. Sharing audits, reports etc.

I feel like there’s a lot of ā€˜common knowledge’ spread with little in the way of verification both here and elsewhere.

Don’t trust, verify is a cliche but I’m just trying to keep up with keeping basic computer use relatively painless/private. I don’t want government/corporations knowing how much time I spend on Phil Collins’ Wikipedia page.

Ps. If you’re a spook reading this, it’s a figure between 0 and 587,956,584,285 hours per week.

See this is where some more info would be super helpful… I saw a Nostr user who found Obscura leaky, Mullvad is at least audited but Obscura yet to be… despite popular podcasts advertising them, what really helps is independent audits and reports from folks who know what they’re doing.

Good morning.

Morning Dave, he seems ok. I’m thinking he either ate something bad or a neighbour used something nasty in their garden. He really didn’t look well though, lost the strength of his back legs and was visibly shaking. Took him to the vet and they did tests, which came back clear. Fingers crossed he’ll be ok :)

Physically impossible, the average human's arse will fall off the moment both substances touch the mouth.

I can totally imagine Sam Altman in his basement gleefully scamming obscure folk artists for fun.

I did see a bot like that once, posting deleted comments. However, ultimately someone needs to maintain that, probably quite easy right now but if we get a lot of users at some point that will become increasingly expensive.

Same. I’m more into sound, often times I prefer to read what piques my interest and control the sonics.

Yeah I know... Not working on Podverse either, have been in touch with them and they're looking into it. Appears to be a PeerTube issue, possibly because I'm on Yunohost (I've identified there's a CORRS issue, just don't understand what that means or how I fix it.

I want to address it but got loads of tech to deal with at work so it's taken a back seat for a moment.

Think I need a clear couple of days where I can give it my full attention.

I don’t know a single musician who does like them and even the likes of Taylor Swift and Snoop Dog have spoken out about not getting paid properly by them. And the model is very much ā€˜hey musician, go out there and advertise US, not you’. I don’t dig that vibe at all.

Onwards and upwards!
