Yeah in these times I’m way more inclined to think the left/right paradigm does nothing but set people against each other. My pet theory is the real issue we face is the 1-5% of the population are psychopaths but I’ve yet to come up with any practical solution. Best I’ve managed is to ignore it and make funny noises in a shed somewhere.

And then what? I mean it’s a pretty worthless metric considering inflation.

Maybe it’s legacy?

A- “Yeah that guy had loads of money”

B- “what did he do?”

A- “dunno”

B- “cool”.

Thanks for the perspective, ironically the lad is quite short but I’m pretty sure that’s not the issue… I’d certainly trust him to give his best when carrying people, his current job is lugging dead peoples’ furniture for a charity shop, he’s a strong lad.

I’ve seen weaponised bullying used against my other half by the Labour Party first hand, a long story that I don’t want to go into here and ultimately the reason I have such dislike for the organisation (leaving aside the war crimes etc) so I know it exists.

Politics is a tough one, I’m on the left on so many issues but politicians, with very few exceptions, just look out for their own self interest. Bunch of cunts.

What about rebranding yourself to simply Fire?

Cops were complaining about how they all feel tired due to carrying non violent folks with signs yesterday. Didn’t occur to them that maybe not carry non violent folks with signs could be an option.

Poor lickle piggies.

Having a piece of land you own sounds pretty cool. However, unless you’re part of some aristocracy or something, do you actually own it? In the USA, where the idea of property rights appears strongest, you pay a property tax, which if you don’t pay, the state takes your property so that doesn’t seem to count for much,

My property is mostly records and noise making equipment, doubt I’ll be adding land to that portfolio, unless something very odd happens (Christmas No 1 maybe?).

Interested to read better replies than this one…

Well if you have a ton of synths and need to relocate due to some kind of tyrant…

Oh wait, I haven’t really thought this through.

Yeah that album is absolutely gorgeous, she’s defo one of my all time favourite voices.

Saw her live earlier in the year, she’s soooo fucking cool, I’m sure she’s convinced she’s terrible in her own mind. No one does pain quite like her.

I’d go to the second one every time. The first bloke looks like a right wanker.

That’s paper for you…

Oh shit, explains why I missed The Rapture

Broadly agree... Just weary of slogans like 'fix the money' (even though it's obviously shit). Lots of weird stuff going on right now. Thought it was particularly classic the world's richest person recently telling folks to fight back against their governments, especially seeing as that's where he gets loads of his cash from. Maybe he's aware loads of people may want his head on a pike? Hmm...

For me, what humanity never really gets it's head around is the 1-5% of psychopaths in the population. Regardless of the system, they're prepossessed to manipulate it.

I have no answers tbh but on balance I think psychopaths are bad and would much prefer fewer of them.

How would you encourage the wealthy to addresss rising discontent?

I don’t know if you’ve ever heard Robert Kiyosaki but using him as an example, frankly he doesn’t give a shit. Being poor is a problem for poor people, not the likes of him.

I agree this is a surprising take from Dr Ross but I think his point about the level of discontent with average earners is very valid.

Fix the money how? Fix crony capitalism how?

This is for gigs… I couldn’t build a tune in Ableton to save my life lol
