This new paper is a true declaration of war: the ECB claims that early #bitcoin adopters steal economic value from latecomers. I strongly believe authorities will use this luddite argument to enact harsh taxes or bans. Check 🧵 for why:

Rather than praising bitcoin as a tech paradigm shift à la petroleum and the internet, the authors introduce the blatantly luddite argument that "early adopters" ... "increase their real wealth and consumption" ... "at the expense of [latecomers]".

Then they go on to brazenly advocate for legislation ... "to prevent bitcoin prices from rising or to see bitcoin disappear altogether" in order to prevent "the division of society".

The authors also model some projections, to illustrate the paltry amount of BTC that will remain available for latecomers. (Woe is me! Conspicuously left out is the reason that has driven 15 years of bitcoin adoption & development: it's simply better tech.)

In all the years I've been monitoring the bitcoin space, this is by far the most aggressive paper to come from authorities. The gloves are off. It's clear that these central bank economists now see bitcoin as an existential threat, to be attacked with any means possible.
Many of us have warned that this was coming: bitcoin as a major political fault line both in national and international elections. Well here it is. It means that us HODLers must take action to insure that governments respect our basic right to hold property.
And no, this won't be a war between haves and have-nots. Rather this will be a historic clash between those who stand for the natural rights of the individual, and those who clutch at the failed ideologies of collectivism and central planning.
Here's the download link to the paper: "The distributional consequences of Bitcoin". (We need detailed rebuttals. Who's writing one?)
Yeah.. like this doesn’t happen with other limited supply assets. Like.. uh, property!
They better apply it to housing and property if they want to be consistent
I don’t know how many times I’ve watched the #spacex booster catch videos. What a time to be alive. Amazing
More interesting to me is whether ham coming to Ferrari will make me his fan. It has happened to all before him, but I've long not liked him haha
Will definitely be interesting to see their dynamic.
I've been a Ferrari fan since the days of schumacher. Hated most of the Ferrari drivers who joined until they came to Ferrari haha. Like kimi, vettel and alonso. But love them all now
First time #phoenixwallet user. Haven't received or sent, so no channel. How does the channel capacity get decided? Can't see any settings
Tried asking Co-pilot to help me find out why my test was failing. It bothers me how confident AI assistance appears even when it’s wrong
Yeah I went in with the plan of using my nym, but it felt weird so I just said my real name. Oh well. I feel like I have some good friends now. Probably all spooks. HAHAHA
I'm really not sure about Reactive programming (eg. ReactiveX).
About 5 years ago I was really getting into it before changing jobs. Then didn't touch it at my new job. I just changed teams and am seeing little bits of RxJava in places, and it's tickling my fancy again.
I love the way in which it does concurrency and supports backpressure, but I wonder why it hasn't caught on more.
Is it used much in frontend (ie. RxJS)? I haven't seen it much in my company, though I dabbled in it 5 years ago with Angular and was fun.
#programming #reactivex #rxjava #reactor #rxjs #java #reactiveprogramming
Even my normie friends who I talk to about Bitcoin, never use the words "Bitcoin" but instead purposefully say "Crypto" to me to annoy me hahaha. It's pretty funny.
But I know what you mean. I was like that until last year when I went to Nostrasia and made some local bitcoiner friends who I meet in person sometimes now. It makes a difference to have contact IRL.
No meetups near you?
I'm looking forward to the day when I start seeing people back home where I grew up etc getting into bitcoin. still don't know any friends who are bitcoiners. though I have plenty new friends through bitcoin
i though alby already did this
First time I “tried” Bitcoin was the top of the 2017/2018 peak. Didn’t know much about it but saw my money just going down and lost interest.
Next time I got in was 2021 peak. And I lost money playing with shitcoins and margin.
Thereafter I finally started doing my own research. If only id learned the first time back in 17/18.
Thanks 🙂Sorry if it’s already known! And if I should’ve posted a GitHub issue rather :)
Hope you’re all well!
Weird. I just zapped someone’s reply to a comment of mine, and #damus popped up a notification telling me I got zapped by myself. However it’s not in my notification feed when I look there and it appears the sats were sent correctly and #damus is showing it correctly on the actual note. It was just the popped up push notification.

This one is all nostr:npub17meshv2lg6rfyuwzgh349yslllq7aathd55xu0jgjns2ayz6rt2seplm8u. It’s actually two recipes combined.
Crust (paywall removed): https://archive.is/yYOWV
Pie: https://smittenkitchen.com/2018/10/even-more-perfect-apple-pie/
Well thanks for sharing her sources!
My wife will love this
Apple? Looks so good. Share your recipe! I’ve never made apple pie and would love to
Deliveries always ring our bell at the worst time. Usually when my son has just fallen asleep for a nap.
Today we’re all sick. Finally got him to rest and fall asleep. Then the doorbell rings and the dogs go mad.
We live in a shared complex with no box to drop it off and they can’t get to our doorstep through the front gate.
We can’t schedule deliveries because we don’t know when the nap time will be and some delivery companies don’t have the option.
Very frustrating
People are not used to this concept. It’s pretty novel. They’re used to being sold stuff, having people serve them stuff for free with pretty packaging hiding well-constructed, unapologetically chosen mistruths
Imagining a controlling state employing squadrons of weaponized drones to physically police around. Manual or eventually AI. They’re already using them in war. Sounds pretty terrifying.
In the end I forgot about the documentary until now. So Peter is Satoshi. Got it. On we go with the day.
