While there likely is at least a distinguishing variable, “liking” something seems to imply an appreciation of some kind of value.

I’d argue that they actually do. They care enough to poison you just enough of a dosage, that only throughout a long time and consistency they can make you addicted and dependent. So then they can continue to co-orchestrate sustainable “growing” profits with the pharma/medical industry, who’ll be there to uncover more “edible” poison, or suggest to treat the symptoms with even more poison.
