Gonna have to think this through. A quick thought is that product-based commerce shops these days are limited by geolocation (not because of logistics cost) but because the service providers are tied to the localities payment currencies and gateways, as well as regional t&c’s. Using lightning removes this limitations - as on web you just have one currency, Bitcoin. The other hope is the removal of KYC in general.

I guess if you have a specific geographic region you are targeting, then you can state that, as well as show other perks such as - low logistics and duty (ie if you are shipping from the same country) etc.

Are there any other purpose of you needing to show IP ? Curious to know more

Why ship at all? I live in my immediate environment. I want products and services that are nearby me, and I pay in crypto, of course. Don't care about "IP".

I don't like the whole "hide IP" angle. Why is that small tech detail highlighted as much? Another Silk Road...? I believe in locality of services, p2p. Goodness is so close.

Hey I just submitted my first new "place" via Organic Maps (just a Starbucks). Not reviewed yet. I believe a lot in locality of services, wish there was an "accepts crypto" though...

Not sure. I do think there’s room and need for an actual global public square. It can only exist in a protocol context. It’s just going to take a while to get there.

A global public square will be an experience controlled by media and algorithms for most. So no, it was always an illusion. I'm looking forward to vibrant, healthy and inspiring local public squares, where ones own perception matters more than media.

OK i tried Organic Maps for a day and so far I like it! Feels better than OsmAnd which I used before but stopped using. For Organic Maps: Is there some way to find crypto accepting businesses?

It came with android. I wanted to use a mobile without having to need a google account to limit their spying of my personal data. there's also calyxOS.

maybe eBay has one.

OK I went a different route. After some comparing I bought a Google Pixel 6a for about 300 EUR then installed LineageOS (of course without Google apps). So far it works 😀

Yes but Session is buggy and messages are delivered unreliably or disappearing. I tested it extensively and moved on.

Spent the last two weeks without a smartphone except for maps. No calls, no texts, basic plan with new sim card so minimal data. it was wonderful, total datum reset. It was a kind of fasting with real, tangible benefits.

I did, via getalby.com, but confused. So I have a wallet now, and my nostr private key is also the private key for my getalby wallet?

My first getalby.com wallet didn't have a lud16 address and I couldn't figure out how to add one, so I deleted that and created a new one with lud16/email address...

I guess if this zapping thing works I need to fund my getalby wallet with a few more sats.
