I found computer games in the mid-1900's and never looked back. I stopped playing console games immediately. Back in the 90's Quake and StarCraft were my original gaming obsessions. I still remember the IP address of my old Quake server ๐
Fast forward a few years and I spent a lot of time playing Team Fortress Classic and BF2.
And then, my fiance did something silly. She bought me a game she heard me mention a few times called World of Warcraft. I played that game a lot. I mean a lot. Way too much. The addiction was real. That game has so many mini-games to do inside it from farming materials, to gaming money in the auction house, to hardcore raiding, to achievements and so much more. From 2006 to 2018, I played WoW. I quit for a couple years at a time when my kids were born.
Eventually, I got back to my roots and started playing a first person shooter again in 2017. I became obsessed with Overwatch and played it non-stop for a few years in the evenings after the kids went to bed. I played in and organized several e-sports teams and leagues. This was a lot of fun. The past couple of years though, I didn't play as much as I was focusing my free time on other things such as Bitcoin.
I played Overwatch 2 for a couple months when it came out last fall, but stopped in December when I found my latest obsession, Nostr.
I went to BlizzCon in 2019. It was fun, definitely an experience. I would never go again though.
Some gamers will play dozens of titles, constantly switching back and forth. Not me. I find one I like, obsess with it, and strive to become the best damned player there is for that game. I'm really competitive ๐
I don't see myself getting back into gaming at this time. I like to talk about the fond memories I had over the years, but at this time, I'd father focus my free time on other aspects of my life.
I swore off games for a quite a while. I find myself coming back to it, on mobile and Switch especially, to waste an hour with the kids. My Singing Monsters on mobile, is pretty amazing. We are a musical family, and the game has a composing component where you can write your own songs on actual musical staff that the game performs for you. Itโs very innovative and appeals to me. Itโs almost #homeschool credits worthy.. almost.
Age of Empires was my main game. I played the storyline, and actually watched the cut scenes which actually WERE homeschool credits, I donโt care what anybody says. There were no other 12 year olds going around talking about El Cid.
If you must do long term #prepping please, rotate through. This was laid up for the end of the Maya calendar. Then they ignored it even while they depended on it still sealed for 12 years.
I donโt prep this way, so it was destined to be animal food. So now that itโs original owner is finally done with it, I opened it to give to chickens. After breaking open the lid, I was met with a gaping hole in the Mylar. Appears to be, it was not ever packed properly.
This is why I #homestead #garden and keep #chickens and #rabbits because when you gsd yourself then you know itโs done right!

Yo check it out! Kingdom of Black Falcon takes me way back!! ..and she's got a falcon! Holy cow. I'm over the moon. Am I a grown butt man? Yes. Did we go look at Legos for my kid? Yes. Did I feel every package in the store looking for her? Yes. Did the target cashier look at me angry? Yes. Did I get thrown out? No. Not going to lie, if I had gotten kicked out it would have been worth it.

I live near some county woods. There is bee activity, but it is scattered. The drones are super peaceful. I want some! I suspect there are small hives for the taking all around me, but they lack a robust hive maybe? Iโve been completely overrun with bees once or twice though when I get frosting buckets and leave them out to clean.
