Well, that’s one of many reasons I dislike him. What do we expect? We are talking about someone that will wear a Bahamut costume in the same week he bans people on the claim he cares about kids. That wasn’t my point though.

I guess I’m trying to say, he didn’t ruin twitter. We can’t go back to the glory days of twitter. It started as trash, and the continuity hasn’t been broken. It’s just been noticed as trash by a wider variety of people lately. We aren’t really free until we are all free.

I’ve seen a lot of hate for #Elon on nostr in the last couple days. Y’all forget that the child abuse happened under Jack and Vijaya too? Y’all forget that twatter already had a government portal before Elon? Y’all forget the censorship and bans of the last couple years? Y’all forget that Twatter Fakebook Goolag and the whole lot of them were synchronizing to the party line in precision that could only have been done through collusion?

Remember when Orange Man got banned and you cheered? Still cheering now that it’s you? Now, when more groups are feeling the burn equally we should see all of social media for what it was all along. The algorithm divides group, and then subdivides those groups. Hate Elon, fine. Don’t defend what it was before him. Don’t cheapen the damage it did by saying things like look what Elon “did to” twitter. It was never good.

And before somebody calls me an Elon fanboi because of my #aiart avatar, that was made by first generation stable diffusion when I tried to have it recreate this meme. It’s all just boys playing with toys they don’t understand. Remember that.

It was always a negativity propeller. 4chan and Redtube were at least honest about their agenda. Twitter’s absolute gutter filth hiding behind a veil of free speech was only outdone by Reddit. Elon’s gift to the world was that he stopped the previous policy of treating half the people like crap and exposed the whole thing for what it was. Now everyone is treated like crap, and err’body has a reason to hate the platform!

I think it’s a joke that people pretend like Twitter ever was good. Under age abused people going to twitter and the legal authorities to have the 👶 🌽 of them removed, and being denied? That’s third world stuff. Nothing to have ever defended or call good.

Can’t answer for Derek, but to me it’s indifferent. I wish there was a way to categorize it in global, but I suppose it doesn’t clog the feed any more or less than maintenance bots that post in mandarin. 😆

I say indifferent, because I don’t read the news. The news shows the worst the world has to offer, but doesn’t leave me with any way to fix it. Instead of hassling with things I can never change, I get my news from memes so I can laugh instead of cry. So unless I subscribe to a news bot, it will continue the same.

Otherwise, if it showed in my feed whether I chose it or not, (think promoted FB paid posts) I would say it’s BAD. If things show up in my personal feed that I didn’t subscribe to, I’ll leave that client and if it becomes prevalent I’ll leave nostr altogether. Forgoing mass media, or at least fasting, is great for mental health. I wish everyone had the self respect to not entertain the reactionary and destructive thought patterns that develop from subjecting yourself to constant propaganda.
