Yes you could try it but im not sure, i never used it, i believe its possible to tunnel other TCP ports with cloudflared, i have not tried it but it should be a similar setup to the HTTP config

at a cypherpunk conference. some thoughts:

- interesting humans with many different backgrounds: hacktivists, cryptographers, civil society activists, infrastructure guys, electronic voting people, vpn people, tor devs, solarpunks, radio comms, file sharing, internet archive, general freedom tech, and many more.

- bitcoin is mentioned all the time but there are practically no bitcoiners in sight. I'm the bitcoin guy now.

- everyone knows about nostr. people are very interested in it. maybe 2-3 nostr users are here, no devs. many people representing bluesky. I'm the nostr guy now.

- many people know about cashu and bitchat. lots of excitement.

- many synergies, lots of groups and companies working together. the urgency is obvious. cypherpunk vibes are strong.

verdict: bitcoin and nostr are severely under-represented in communtities where a lot of important work is done. shitcoin phobia isn't a good reason to not engage in a much larger discourse about privacy, freedom, and technology. we haven't lost the plot but have a lot more to do.

it's not supported by any apps and is kind of parallel to nip-05.... Tech adoption is only a little bit the tech itself... it's a lot of the social work of getting something working.

I could be wrong, but I think he's getting at most users won’t bother switching clients just to see one person’s posts and they’ll most likely stick with the mainstream app (in the current case of at proto, Bluesky) - and in this case they won't be able to see your posts from another app because fetching data from your pds is prohibited by the main app overall, no matter where it comes from. Your friends would need to use the client that pulls from your pds to see them

Can you do that on the current Facebook? You can as long as Facebook gives you API access or something like that. It's the same on ATProto.

Yes, the ZS API. The pattern for Nostr streaming is a bit strange, as in ZS it's the server not the user that signs the Kind 30311, in order for a matching Kind 5 to be published, the server has to do it. The user can't publish their own as they were not the original author. Good news, the ZS API has an endpoint for exactly that, it just wasn't tested or documented, but it does seem to work, and if I put through a DELETE to /streams it will publish a Kind 5 for me. ... Built that in today and shipped it to web, will be in the next app release.

I was thinking about age verification on social media. This is not good because we don't want to do KYC and age verification, but meanwhile the child safety is important. The solution as we know is to expect the parents to take care about this.

I believe we need a set of nostr clients that are for child's. They can support good protection about unknown keys and let the parents to have control over contents show to them and relays they use, somehow.

Even some relays can focus on this topic.

Meanwhile when they have a space as social media, we have an opportunity to teach them what is Nostr, why it even exists, why free speech matters and more in a gamified way.

The chain of events regarding an open letter that calls for respect and collaboration across the open social web is fairly indicative of the state of collaboration on the open social web more broadly: There is a large group of people who are actively moving the space forward, and who have signed the open letter that calls for mutual respect and working together for a better open social web. The number of people who voiced objections and concerns is minimal, but by focusing on procedural reasons it creates a greater level of discord within the community of people that moves the open social web forward than there actually is.

It is still having some issues, and I haven't been able to track down what's going on. Would be good to have a second pair of eyes on it.
