It’s colored by the political spectrum but it’s fucking terrifying what YouTube (nominally the world’s leading video repository) does to videos it doesn’t like (even censoring the comments in real time). “Misinformation/community standards violations”. Seen during Covid but even well outside that. Who decides (especially when it turns out not to be misinformation at all?)? Is there any punishment for tech companies that decide to do this?
I’m seeing more and more “members-only” videos popping up, but these monthly subscription models are simply not sustainable.
They’re too expensive. No one can afford to pay $ 5USD a month for every channel they enjoy.
