Apart from my wife, I have no bitcoiners in meatspace to relate this to, so I’m just gonna leave this here. No one will probably read it, but I just want to get this off my chest. Who knows, maybe it will do some good and inspire someone.

I think one of the most underestimated aspects of bitcoin is how it secretly spills over into other parts of your life. Yes, bitcoin is money in the digital age, yes, it’s a finite black hole that will absorb other asset classes, yes, inflation is theft, yes, it can make a median income earner a massive millionaire when done right. But the most underrated aspect in my eyes, and this is propagated by fellas like nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx and nostr:npub1rtlqca8r6auyaw5n5h3l5422dm4sry5dzfee4696fqe8s6qgudks7djtfs, is it made me realize how insanely valuable my time is.

When this realization occurred, I made it my number one priority to optimize for my time. So while working the fiat mines for the better part of the last decade, every time I earned a promotion or got a better job, my aim was not to earn more, but spend less time earning the same.

Yes, I could have spent more time in the mines and easily earned 2x of what I did, bought more of the coin with said earnings and be a rich fella with a much bigger car and a much bigger house by now, but you know what? Fuck that!

In stead, I got to be there for my parents, my wife and my kids, take care of them, watch them grow, do volunteer work in the local community, and pursue my hobbies, all while showing the kids that it’s OK to work for a living and contribute to society, and that it’s not normal to get retirement-rich off some crazy bet in your younger years.

Understanding the value of my time, thanks to studying bitcoin, was a life altering moment for me, and I am forever grateful for this realization. No amount of money, bitcoin or otherwise, is worth this lesson learned and the life and experiences it provided.

Who knows, with this in mind, you can look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself the extremely confrontational question: what am I doing with my time?!

Understanding the Value of time ā¤ļø

We’re on the edge of massive breakthroughs: AI, self-driving cars, robot butlers, gravity propulsion systems, and maybe even aliens. These are things that could fundamentally change our day-to-day lives.

And yet, the future Bitcoiners describe—a world where you can save money and its value holds or even increases—is the one people still find unimaginable.

Why? Because no one thinks about money. No one understands it. It’s the foundation of society, but that foundation is built on theft. And we’ve been conditioned to ignore it, to accept that constant erosion of value as ā€œjust the way it is.ā€

Maybe it’s not that Bitcoin is too futuristic—it’s that imagining a world where theft isn’t baked into the system feels impossible. A world where you can save what you earn and hold your place in line without constantly falling behind.

Those other breakthroughs? They’re aspirational. You look up at them. But without sound money, they don’t fix the root problem—they only make it worse. Without Bitcoin, the divide between the haves and have-nots grows larger with every new advancement.

Ironically, it’s a sound monetary future that allows all those cool, crazy technologies to truly thrive. It’s Bitcoin that makes a future of innovation sustainable—because when theft isn’t built into the system, progress benefits everyone, not just the few.

While everyone focuses on the big, flashy breakthroughs they hope will change the world, Bitcoin is changing the world—one person at a time.

And it’s already here.

The stupid and the smart - they see the bright sight of life šŸ”®āœØ

Bring Meta onto the Bitcoin Standart. nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m needs a serious conversation with Mark.

I spent another 100,000 sats on a zap-vertising experiment…

And I think I proved that advertising on Nostr actually works…

Here’s:

1ļøāƒ£ What I did

2ļøāƒ£ The results

3ļøāƒ£ What I learned

1ļøāƒ£ What I did:

I sent 4105 zaps over the course of 3 days for a total of 112,000 sats.

Each zap contained a link for a blog post:

zapvertising-experiment.carrd.co

My goal was to see if I could get a reasonable cost per click (CPC)…

2ļøāƒ£ The results:

During the campaign I had a total of 71 unique visitors to the page.

CPC was 1578 sats or $1.50 usd.

I also gained 245 followers from that campaign.

These CPCs are in line with other ad platforms which validates the overall concept for me.

3ļøāƒ£ What I learned / brain dump:

- Results were better than expected.

- I thought there might have been a bit of negative push back (however none received).

- There is a chance I am significantly underreporting and google analytics isn't picking everything up (surprised to see 3-4x the number of new followers vs. clicks šŸ¤”)

- THERE IS SOMETHING HERE. I still don’t know exactly what the model looks like, how it scales, but there is something to be uncovered.

- Right now, this can’t be done at scale… in the future it could. I spent ~$100 and it took me multiple days. In the future there will be ways to allocate +$10,000 per day here. For context of where we are at right now, Nostr daily zap totals are around 750,000 sats - about $675 - see stats.nostr.band/ for that data)

- Something feels off with the format… simply paying someone and sending them a link… The p2p model feels right, but the format feels off.

More to come 🫔

Let me know your thoughts šŸ‘‡

There seams to be something. Zap-vertising seams to work.

Would be interesting to compare the results with different zap amounts. How would it be with 2 Sats? How with 2000 Sats per Zap?

I think there could be a lot of magic in it. Great work.

For a year - it’s possible. For 20 years: Not
