In my opinion, the immigration crisis we are witnessing everywhere, fraught with human rights violations, could be significantly ameliorated by adopting open borders. It's not just about freedom of movement – a basic human right – but also about harnessing global demographic and economic imbalances to spur shared prosperity.
Our world is rife with disparities. While some countries grapple with aging populations and labor shortages, others face youth bulges with scarce economic opportunities. By embracing open borders, we could transform these challenges into mutual benefits, boosting economic growth globally.
Furthermore, the harrowing stories of those forced to take dangerous, illegal routes in search of better lives could be things of the past. Open borders could potentially lead to safer migration paths, ultimately reducing human suffering and exploitation.

🚨 Migrants accuse Tunisia of dumping them on border.
Human Rights Watch (HRW) has urged Tunisia to halt its expulsion of sub-Saharan African refugees and migrants and to provide humanitarian services to those stranded at the country's border with Libya. This comes after hundreds were reportedly rounded up from the coastal city of Sfax and taken to Ben Guerdane, a militarized Tunisia-Libya border zone. The detainees, including women, children, and injured individuals, have reportedly been forced to endure harsh conditions, with some resorting to drinking seawater for survival. The expulsions follow recent violent incidents in Sfax, with locals blaming refugees for disturbances. HRW highlights that the refugees come from several African nations, including Cameroon, Chad, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Mali, Senegal, and Sudan.
