How easy is it for gov. organisation to track all your BTC or lightning transactions back to you?
Discussion
One can just wonder 💭
Why?
Still get not a satisfying answer. So maybe they can somehow?
If you didn't buy KYC, and you are careful about coin selection (not combining your inputs when you spend), they aren't going to be able to track it. Lightning is more private, just watch what coins you use when opening channels.
Coin selection is hard work though. It will get better in the future.
Depends entirely on your OPSEC.
KYC coin is very easily tracked unless you know how to break the on-chain link.
If you buy non-KYC sats, especially if you keep them on Lightning, it's much harder.
Lightning gives you an extra layer of privacy since there's no public ledger.
Best not to buy KYC in the first place lest they come after them some day.
If you buy your btc at a source that has your ID (like Coinbase or other centralized exchage), then it's relatively easy to track using a chainanalysis software.
