Great post. I am actively exploring possibilities where key+data+code are separate but can be brought together when needed.
I believe that the EU with their right-to-be-forgotten legislation have made blockchains effectively illegal.
I am viewing Cashu as a payment instrument managed by a wallet that has its own generated identity. Whether individuals want to associate with their social identity, that's their choice, but I've made the decision to keep the payment system as cash-focused as possible with no personal information.
digital economy = moving information + moving value
fortunately, we’ve figured the second part out.
I wrote an essay about it.
Easy to add an eighth constant to the International System of Units convention.

Payments is Sovereignty.
The EU is just realizing this now.
Fortunately on #nostr, we've known this all along and enabling every individual.

App Store + Closed Ecosystem - everything the State ever wanted.
This is super obvious once you've studied money deeply enough.
We now have in place what I like to call the 'Satoshi Constant' - 21M bitcoin that represents the fixed monetary units that can be used for trade.
After studying the very successful Canadian private banking system in the late 1800s, I immediately saw the same opportunity with #Cashu. That’s why I jumped on it three years ago.
Proof of Work > Proof of Influence
How knowledge truly advances…

This is a great way to describe it.
FWIW, I am designing #nostr #safebox that if you get kicked out of a service instance, you just recover yourself on another service instance and carry on.

It’s been a great learning experience. Before I go live with a service, I need to develop a solid playbook to deal with the various dos attacks. I am also experimenting with dynamic relay and mint selection, so my service is no more than a dumb gateway service for payments and record sharing on the nostr network.
It was the vps infrastructure that was being ddosed.
Once again, amazed at the resilience of #nostr for my project #safebox. Over the past week I had to battle denial of service attacks that forced me to move my relay and mint to another region. My biggest concern was the wallet data I had on the relay. No problem. I just spun up a new strfry relay, did a negentropy sync, switched the DNS and the service did not skip a beat!
Onward!
I’m not saying it’s good or bad - just authoritarian. Lots of societies don’t issue birth certificates, they rely on elder witnesses.
Yup. That’s why I like Amber on Android. I use it for Amethyst. Once I get around to creating an Android app, I plan to use Amber and Nostr Wallet Connect.
Planning on subscribing - is this the only relay I need to set in Amethyst?
;;;;;;;;;;
Cool! I just swiped some code for starters. I’ll take a close look at this when I build my test suite.
One of my test suites will be to iterate through a random set of relays and random set of mints, receive and send payments, receive and send records.
You can just sign events.
All those closed loop gift card systems could give way to open loop gift card systems with ecash behind the scenes. Only a matter of time.

Verse Communication PBC is the publisher on Play?
Another stellar publisher is https://www.manning.com/
If O’Reilly doesn’t bite, Manning might.
These ‘hard rules’ in medieval times gave rise to supranational orders. I am trying to draw the parallel, that with technology along with certain ‘hard axioms’ that can be enforced, can give rise to a supranational infrastructure .
systems endure when rules matter more than rulers
you can just lurk
I am experimenting with lnvps.net. Happy so far with the CAN instances but too much latency with IRE.
You’re the second last. I’m the last. I knew about #what3words and #where39 but #geohash is way better.
Some interesting techniques to hide money on your person.
I hope this will become obsolete with #nostr #safebox
I just use kind 1 for my public posts. I forgot about kind 20.
