Let's change the world with #bitcoin. Working on BTCPay Server integrations for e-commerce solutions. Mostly PHP and JS.

You think the fraud Craig Wright is defeated and should go back to the hole he came from but no, he is on it again and suing devs for the 991 billion in marketcap of BTC vs BSV.

The only way to not get harrassed by him is if he finally is in jail and bankrupt.

Greatful it's another "we found satoshi" nothingburger 👏

Think it was a video in loop on locked screen. Using Amethyst for 1+ years, never hadsuch a huge spike in one day. Definitely room for improvement with some caching 😅

wtf, data attack or just #amethyt going crazy? Was reading for like 30 mins today max

> this number can be faked or inflated and is only used by people manipulating the masses by bragging their own numbers. notes with 3 / 4 likes sometimes come from the same account that made the post in the first place, and because clients aggregate and don't show who did what and when, they distort the value of the note and burden the relays. that's why advocating for more of this is going the wrong way, clients will just show meaningless numbers to people.

good points but I would argue you can always create new npub bots to like your content and then it would not matter if aggregated or not, the numbers would be inflated. Sure relays will have not the full sight but it would be a fast way to receive an initial count without wasting too much time downloading all reaction notes. Clients could fetch that and after fetching more important stuff get the notes so it would just speed up things. This all assumes that reactions are not that important and it's ok to delay downloading of the full data to speed up ux.

Right I used likes when I meant reactions.

We could argue that single char notes are a waste of bandwith or even spam. But I also like reactions as they transport emotions without a written reply. So I agree with your point I guess.

Would reaction aggregation (for counting) hurt that use case if the authors client still downloads all reactions?

Imo zaps are more valuable/important than likes.

The fork war started has.

please don't try to sell the corn otherwise Lopp will come and destroy testnet4 too 🤣

btww. is testnet4 already broken? block times look like on testnet3, lots of blocks at same time and then big gaps? seems the fix did not work 😱

Important Announcement

We have made the decision to no longer list projects in sensitive conflict zones, including any project raising funds for, or located in such zones. This is effective today.

It wasn’t an easy decision, and it’s one that we know will bring some disappointment amongst you.

Geyser has always stood for providing access to crowdfunding to those that previously didn’t. We serve a global user-base that, through the power of Bitcoin and human connection, has and will continue to positively impact the world.

We have also gone through great lengths to preserve Bitcoin’s properties of being a sovereign medium of exchange, ensuring we never take custody of funds and do not require the submission of identification to raise funds.

Unfortunately, and as many of you know, the movement of funds is increasingly a point of scrutiny. Even more so when the destination of those funds is a conflict area where it is difficult to have any guarantee that funds won’t be used to finance war, resistance movements, scams and criminal activities.

We do not custody, administer, or control any funds contributed to the projects at any time. Additionally, we aim to avoid the possibility of these funds falling into the wrong hands. Accepting and listing such projects could necessitate implementing increasingly intrusive measures to verify the identities of creators, which we prefer to avoid.

Importantly, we have no reason to believe any funds raised on Geyser to this day have been used for criminal activities. But, after carefully considering the risks, we decided to no longer list projects in those high risk regions.

For these types of sensitive projects in conflict zones, protocols > platforms.

While this was a difficult decision, it is one that will allow us to give a greater focus on supporting the creators, educators and builders furthering Bitcoin adoption.

Our mission continues to be to enable powerful Bitcoin ideas around the world.

For more details on which countries and regions are currently supported on Geyser, see:

Don't get me wrong, Geyser is a great project and it helps a lot to get attention to your cause - but this shows why open source wins when sh*t hits the fan. All displaced projects can spin up a BTCPay instance and start their crowdfunding there.

There's a billion tg users happy to jump ship, particularly if someone can make a bridge for transitioning groups, and a bot father alternative.

I hope WoT and not allowing impersonate others with bio or username will fix all the scammers DMing people on TG. LFG!

I struggle with straight walls 🤣
