Narcissists will try to trigger you forever in every interaction they have with you.
It’s like a sick game to them. There is nothing you can actually do to avoid this other than not reacting.
The hard part is how much we beat ourselves up when we do react.
Realize that it’s ok if you do react even though it sucks when we do.
It will get easier over time and you will become more aware of it before you do react.
This is a process and it doesn’t come easy for most of us.
The important thing is to be kind to yourself along the way. It will take as much time as it does and that’s ok.

The reverse discard. When they have used you up and you are no longer useful to them or want you.
Narcissists will use this when they want to play victim and blame everything on you. Of course they will do this anyway, but in this way, you bring up leaving, not them.
Then they can say everything is your fault and you’re leaving them, even though that’s what they wanted.
This still hurts even if it’s the best thing that could happen. It’s one of the few ways we get out of these relationships without them trying to love bomb and hoover us back in.
It may be the opportunity you need. It definitely was for me. #grownostr
