Whether it's narcissists, toxic people or anyone else. We can't save or love them enough for them to be healthy. It's something they must do for themselves. There are no exceptions to this. We all must do the work ourselves in order to heal. Focus on yourself and do the work to heal and allow them to do it or not. Your life will get better either way and they will come with you or you will find healthier people to be with. It's not easy, but it's better than going backwards.

Everything narcissists do is a distraction in order to control us. They don't want us to be able to think clearly or have time to ourselves. This might allow us to have time and space for clear thinking, which could allow us to see beyond their illusion. The distraction is to keep us overwhelmed so we never see who they truly are.

Being busy is only helpful until it's not. Many times being busy is not helpful in healing. We end up suppressing emotions that need to come out. It's important to process them, but many times letting them out is helpful in and of itself. Allowing them out is part of healing.

I do not recommend going to counseling with a narcissist ever if you can avoid it. It doesn't ever go well and usually causes more harm to you and the relationship. If the counselor figures out they're a narcissist, they won't go back and may retaliate against you. If they don't, the narcissist will use the counselor against you to abuse and manipulate you. Definitely get help and support, but don't go with them if you can avoid it.

There's always going to hell to pay in toxic relations, it's only when and how it happens. We end up not wanting to talk about anything to anyone. It's better to not talk to narcissists, but we need other people to see and hear us. Find these people and allow them to support you. Even a little time with other people helps a lot even if it's uncomfortable at first.

Some days just feel like a disaster even when they’re actually not. This is normal even though it usually doesn’t feel like it. It’s just our mind trying to protect us.
