Ooo lots of things to consider when deciding on languages and technologies to use. It’s a bit of a journey and it is highly dependent on what you’re interested in building and what resonates with you. I’m very much a backend dev (although I do front end work for clients when they need it), and that lends itself to different technologies than someone who really enjoys FE work. Basically… try things, learn things, but ultimately, pay attention to the things that resonate to you and don’t be afraid to pivot. You steer your own ship. And whatever language or area you decide to start in… there’s a community here of people with all sorts of skills, so don’t be afraid to ask for help
Just like the mathematical understanding of gravity changed when we understood relativity. “Normal” is also relative and I love that what happens at the extremes flip all of that on its head. Early science is so egotistical - planets circling the earth. I do like the idea that progress in both spirituality and science requires surrender - especially for two areas that at times have been made to seem so diametrically opposed.
I’ll check it out! Thanks for the recommendation!
I’d love to read this. Double slit experiment and quantum really enable a lot of interesting hypotheses about reality and experiences. There’s not much as liberating as the realization that “I don’t know”.
My social anxiety just keeps me from making them in the first place 😂 nothing to delete. CBT does help though
I have this dream of writing a book, and I keep saying each year I’m going to participate in NaNoWriMo. Maybe one year I will 😂 but if you’re interested in writing fiction it’s a good community to check out for resources on both the writing and publishing process.
That’s quite a standoff! :) Looks like sisters to me
Lots of Noah Kahan and Dermot Kennedy. I missed your book thread - are you reading anything good now?
Sentry is the BEST!! I use it everywhere and it’s literally life changing 🙌
Burnout is real! Especially for those of us with full time jobs and other commitments. I’m super grateful to have a partner in crime in #[2] who can keep the lights on day to day and handle most of the social load that would exhaust an introvert like me 😅 enables me to have those cycles of working/breaks to keep things sustainable. Definitely need others you can lean on and a clear understanding of priorities - and those priorities have to include your own needs, too
Haha yeah, I think it’s important not to ignore the self when making decisions. We all have unique goals and needs, and understanding the lay of the land with data can help us achieve them - but even then, what’s right for one person may not be right for someone else.
Opinion: one of the most important skills to have in this generation is data literacy. Data can be used to make nearly any point unless people know how to properly question metrics, usage, and source. As a follow on to that - an understanding of probability and the detriment of results oriented thinking.
I will definitely be having some 90s music nostalgia of my own tomorrow. Added some train to my work music queue 🎶 thank you both for the inspiration
Have you tried out Keet for this? Or just interested in being able to use the same clients?
There is a NIP for it, but most clients don’t implement it yet. Relays have no way to validate who the user is if they’re only reading (which is why anyone can read from paid relays at this point, and why filter wine requires you to provide your npub in the relay URL). We only can verify who the npub connected is during some types of write EVENTs, where the events are signed.
We need client authentication before things like this can be made, but once that’s supported there are a lot of cool things like this that can be built
Goodnight!

Watching cooking show + food delivery running late + worked through lunch today = literally drooling over these dishes they’re making 🤤
Cat photo of the day 😻

Anyone care to share their experiences/preferences for ASGI servers and frameworks?
