The content game on nostr is š
This is gorgeous! So peaceful and dreamy - I can almost feel it
Now that is an interesting visual š«£ Iāve never thought about the logistics of that phrase
Welcome to nostr! I saw your hashtag about chickens - do you have any pictures of them?
It really is! I love it when I come across a new problem :) learning something new is the best.
In terms of python and Django, there are kind of two camps - Iām more of a flask person than a Django one, just because I donāt really love monorepos, am more microservice minded, and like to have more control over the components I need and how I distribute them. Django people love it though, so it is partially preference and project specific (Iām anti saying any tool is good/bad - itās all about trade offs, priorities, and project requirements). But if you do ever want some feedback in those areas, Iām happy to be a resource.
I wish I could be more helpful in the front end space, but in terms of what is being used a lot: most of my clients use node/react with typescript for their front end apps. I do write a good bit of javascript/typescript, but not enough to be someone who would offer much help as a mentor in those languages. While I work on front ends occasionally, Iām primarily a backend engineer and most of my projects are in python (including most of my web apps, rest APIs, socket servers, and stuff that isnāt exposed directly, like data pipelines, and model training jobs). Years ago, I wrote these things primarily in Java. Iāve also been very interested in working in go, which is an awesome language. If youāre interested in writing things in python or need any infrastructure/deployment insight, Iām happy to be a sounding board! Just unable to give a solid stamp of approval on my typescript/JavaScript advice, unfortunately š«£
Some relays are paid to write (and some are paid to read as well), so that could be an issue with a failure to write, depending on the relay. Do you know which one it was?
Relay selection can play a pretty vital role to your nostr experience, in addition to client selection.
As far as clients, I personally use Damus (iOS), but amethyst is great on android. I donāt use too many web clients so maybe some others will have some suggestions if youāre looking for recommendations there.
Iām sorry to hear it! Iāll send some positive thoughts your way! Hope things turn around and youāre able to find some peace.
I do think there is a lot that is TBD about how relays handle these reports and what happens now vs what happens in the near future may be very different. #[5] and I have been having a lot of discussions about how we, as a relay, can handle these reports and think it will require some concept of āreputationā of the people doing the reporting, and also some human in the loop components to ensure review where there is ambiguity. I think to do this fairly and well is going to have to evolve into something sophisticated and transparent (but can likely start as something more straightforward).
Good luck!! I may try the same after I get a verdict on the current batch Iām working on
Do you have a guide on how to do this with logs? Iāve been trying to get into this by growing some indoors in substrate, but havenāt tried to inoculate any logs. Are there similar contamination issues?
I love that this fills in one of the major gaps in the follows-of-follows net! And can be used to improve peopleās onboarding experience significantly.
