I think you are exaggerating the impact of reports. I have been mass reported many times already.. many relays deleted those reports but I still have over 100 reports made against me live on relays. That hasnt changed anything to my followers or my visibility on the public space.

I do think there is a lot that is TBD about how relays handle these reports and what happens now vs what happens in the near future may be very different. #[5] and I have been having a lot of discussions about how we, as a relay, can handle these reports and think it will require some concept of “reputation” of the people doing the reporting, and also some human in the loop components to ensure review where there is ambiguity. I think to do this fairly and well is going to have to evolve into something sophisticated and transparent (but can likely start as something more straightforward).
