Hey man don't take this the wrong way, but who are you?

I've seen your name around and heard you on podcasts, but I can't find anything that you've actually ever done, other than talk about stuff in a really manly way.

Which is a good skill, don't get me wrong, you are probably better at this than most people.

Are you like one of those people who's famous for being famous?

Did you like build something once? Or do something great?

Asking for a friend 😉

Easy web interface, no accounts or KYC, payable with sats on LN and really good value as you only pay as you use it.

In the interview with Guy you mentioned connecting to Goose using your API keys. Could this replace something like Cursor?

I use Cursor for my budding career as a vibe coder, but the KYC and fact that everything I enter is going into their logs and training makes me a bit reluctant.

Can PPQ replace Cursor? Can you tell me how? nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqy2hwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytn00p68ytnyv4mz7qpq6g4umvwj2pduqc8kt2rv6heq2vhvtulyrsr2a20d4suldwnkl4hq62etsy

Thanks for a great tool, recommending to all my friends, even normies!

I also have a serious question for you. I recently listened to an interview with the Samurai wallet dev who has been sentenced to 5 years prison for writing open source software.

In the interview he talked about how his constitutional rights were not respected and how hostile the judge was.

They had no evidence of an actual crime being committed, so the charges are for “conspiracy” to commit crimes. Basically, as they were “aware” that their software could be used for illegal purposes, they’re guilty of conspiring to commit that crime.

This is pretty scary, does this mean any open source dev could be guilty of a similar crime?

With your background in FOSS and Linux, I’d like to hear what you think about this?

Here’s the interview for anyone interested. Also a V4V pod with no ads.

Yes, my nephew did complete his sats quest. I made it easy for him by loading up a Lightning wallet and telling him about a bar where he lives which accepts sats. Told him he has to take some friends and shout them a drink with the Sats. And offered some additional cold storage sats as a “reward” once the quest was completed. Incentives at work :)

I gave my nieces and nephews some Bitcoin for Xmas in 2022. Turns out that was a great time to do that, as it’s gone nothing but up since then.

I’ve gave them the same amount of fiat again last Xmas, and explained how it was now worth much less in Sats.

When I see them I check in and ask them how their magic internet money is going.

One of them is right into it, so I send him Sats and a quest to spend them at a local merchant.

I’ve become the Bitcoin uncle!

Belated boost for the last few episodes. Thanks for the useful and thought provoking content.

Where else can I find Mishima Yukio, Taiwan and Bitcoin Policy in NZ on the same stream!

I make a regular DCA buy at the same time of every month, for the same amount. I don’t try to time peaks or dips, I just buy, consolidate and move to cold storage.

It works for me: keep it simple, remove the emotion, get in a regular routine, store you “savings” in cold storage.

Tick, tock…

Every month I add a little extra to my regular DCA and keep it in a mobile wallet for spending.

I want Bitcoin to be money, so want to make that a reality. There aren’t too many merchants who accept Bitcoin around me, but not zero.

I pay for my haircuts and always support cafes and restaurants who accept it. If I find a merchant who accepts Sats in a place I visit, I make a point of going there and spending sats.

I also pay for as many online services as I can in Sats: Proton, Mullvad and ppq.ai are examples. And boosts of course! This is how I do it.

What do I think of BIP444?

If you’re interested, read the original BIP, understand it properly then make your own judgement. Too many Bitcoiners are just listening to their favorite influencer and picking a side to support.

The BIP makes no reference to a decision being made to determine if arbitrary data is objectionable. The BIP lists 7 Op Codes or conditions which would further restrict arbitrary data at the consensus level.

I think Matthew Kratter picked that ball up and ran with it himself for some shock value.

This BIP seems unlikely to have legs, but if we’re going to debate it we should at least understand it properly.

My 2 sats worth.

(Bonus boost for “nose candy Mark” in the last ep. I approve!)

Ha ha, I like it! Calling out “piss-poor hiring practices” as the cause for layoffs and the Fed’s strategy for curbing inflation of “trying really hard”. This is the way!

I appreciated your video on BIP444, man that is out there.

How does everyone feel about Knots now I wonder?

I love video for technical tutorials but prefer audio for news and interviews.

How about some detailed video content on a technical topic, perhaps available as bonus content?

Video content would involve more effort for you, so putting that effort towards evergreen technical content would mean it sticks around longer.

Thanks for the in depth content and the research you put into every show.

Great rip Cody, I’m sure you enjoyed this one. Made me realize how early we are and how much work (and mindset shift) is still required.

I liked the analogy of how do we make this change without causing an allergic reaction from the state.

Node Up Bitcoiners. We all gotta do it. Here’s a guide from our community website in New Zealand, just published to help all Bitcoiners run their own node.

Right up your alley Chris, running straight on Ubuntu.

Time traveller boost, I’m going back over episodes about File systems. Who knew that you could customize the file system in your OS. Wow!

Could you explain the difference between corporate disros (like Ubuntu & PopOS) and community distros. Pros and cons, trade offs, that kind of thing.

Thanks.

Time traveller boost for Texas.

I’m randomnly working through the back catalogue to learn things as they come up in my setup.

Just learnt the difference between Snap and Flatpaks in eps 532, 501 and 499. It’s evergreen content, thanks for the work you put into creating these and the passion in the delivery.

Double boost for this and the episode with Oscar. Conversations with people like Oscar who are creating real use cases for Bitcoin are great.

Is there a way to connect my LND node to Fountain? Can I do this with Alby hub?

I’d love to connect directly and not have to manually top up my Fountain wallet if I could.

Keep the signal coming, thanks.

What will 2025 bring for Bitcoin in New Zealand?

I'd like to ask a few open support related questions to the nostr:npub12ctjk5lhxp6sks8x83gpk9sx3hvk5fz70uz4ze6uplkfs9lwjmsq2rc5ky team. After updating the firmware on my Coldcard MK4 I am now experiencing a frozen screen and can not use the device. The device freezes before the PIN screen.

The Coinkite team have responded to my posts in the Telegram channel and also via email but I haven't received any answers to the main questions I would like answered:

- Is this a wider issue with other users after upgrading the firmware to 5.4.0?

- Is the device able to be restored or will it be unusable from now?

I have had this device for 2 years and have had no issues and from my own research think it's a good product.

I have a backup which I can restore so am not at risk of losing coins but am trying to find out what caused this and if I can remedy it.

If anyone else has experienced this or has any suggestions (other than requesting me seed phrase 😄 ) I'd like to hear them.

Try Robosats. Market is open 24/7. If you have fiat to get rid of someone will sell you some KYC free sats. It's a cool platform.
