No. But it's deflationary. Meaning that the rate of inflation is cut in half every halving. The next halving will be in April. From that point onwards each day approximately 450 new BTC will be mined. Now it is 900, because at this time each ten minutes 6,25 BTC are mined. It is also important to note that that schedule cannot really be changed. In particular other than with gold there cannot be more issuance when price rises.

This is any easy way to receive lightning without having to host your own wallet

Thanks, but I need my own node.

Have tried that before. Umbrel Node got stuck several times. Plus Umbrel is much less secure (although feature rich). Have set up NixOS specifically for nix-bitcoin and don't really want to go back

I set it up on NixOS using nix-bitcoin project on GitHub. Makes setting it up very easy (just edit a config file). Problem is there is very little documentation and if there is you are half required to understand Nix programming language.

I can't figure out how to use it. Same for my regular node. Can you recommend a good tutorial?

Doesn't opening a lightning channel require to do that? You need Taproot and Multisig behind the scenes. Multisig where several parties own the keys is effectively sharing an UTXO, right?

Hi Plebs, need your help.

I set up a Node. It is synced and all but I don't know how to reach it. How do I find out the address?

Thx

As a project, GrapheneOS continues to grow with exceptionally loyal users, and it is easy to understand.

We are not some hobby or experimental OS. We are a work of (almost) 10 years of mobile and Android security research, with paid developers, members from many branches of computer and security expertise and volunteer moderators. Everything GrapheneOS has and will implement is added to target the current threat landscape, and is designed to combat real threats. Our security developments aren't to combat irrelevant, baseless 'what-if' scenarios or create easily attacked obscurity tactics and security theater features. We are not scammers who rely on telling you that you'll be "bulletproof" or "untraceable" unlike what came before GrapheneOS.

We are not some average AOSP distribution simply taking the Android base, piling other apps or flawed, insecure additions and treating them as our features. This is not innovation. GrapheneOS changes the AOSP base from all levels, hardening the most exploited components or replacing them with extra secure alternatives that we maintain or have even developed from the ground up. Projects like Hardened Malloc, Vanadium, Camera app and PDF viewer are some users will reap the benefits of in their day to day lives. Other OS's taking such work shows how valuable this work has been.

GrapheneOS is one of the only open-source projects to trailblaze mobile security, from implementing a lock screen bypass fix before Google, reporting numerous security vulnerabilities including ones used by companies attempting to attack us, and adding enhancements upstream to numerous open source projects. GrapheneOS is the first and still the only platform to have ARM hardware Memory Tagging Extensions implemented in production with the Pixel 8 and also the only browser in production when counting Vanadium as well. If you look at the project's socials for this, you will see additions like these have been planned years beforehand.

The foresight the project has for what we should implement should tell you what the experience and skills of the team members are. GrapheneOS is here to stay, and the work done will be around to stay even longer. Even if you don't use the OS you have reaped benefits of the work. It's never too late to understand what you are missing out.

Very much so.

Problem is: A pixel phone 7 is very expensive in my circumstances. I understand why they won't compromise on security but it prices a lot of people out, for example in Africa.

UTXO consolidation is wise with respect to a likely higher fee environment.

Fees have come down some compared to the highs as well.

Keep in mind that having one gigantic UTXO might be detrimental in terms of privacy.

Are you sure you can't use your hardware wallet with Sparrow? Many can.

Need your help, plebs!

Want to set up nix-bitcoin on NixOS and downloaded the template "importable-cnfiguration.nix" from GitHub.

Unfortunately I'm too dumb to modify the "configuration.nix" file that was created in install accordingly.

Documentation is scathy in my opinion.

Can anyone explain, please?

Earn to give.

He was a champion of effective altruism. Other famous proponents of effective altruism: Peter Singer and will McCaskill.

While Scam Bankster Fraud is a scumbag, this isn't true for the other two and not necessarily true for EF. The idea of effective altruism is to not blindly throw money away to where it feels right but to actually do the work and find out where you get the most bang for your buck in terms of helping others.

Which desktop lightning wallet do u use and why?

Prefer non custodial without own node.
