I understand how to setup an XMPP server. I don't understand how new users are meant to register accounts or change their passwords, manage their own credentials, etc.. There must be some additional front-end applications similar to what Element is to Matrix that can handle/facilitate this sort of stuff? I'm having difficulty locating answers online, however. Anyone willing to impart some insider knowledge?

Nextcloud: pretty cool, but slowly erodes and breaks down over time even under best case scenarios and best practices installation.
Nextcloud Desktop App: Complete trash. Has always been complete trash.
I'm a big KDE Plasma fan, but I also use Gnome. And, I gotta' say, despite a lot of things Gnome does wrong (or could otherwise improve to make it a whole lot better), they also do a lot of things right.
