I'm not sure if this solution compliments relays or cannibalizes relays but it seems like the latter. A few thoughts to this.
Fall back plan works if relay vendors stick around but if their mainstream revenue is only a "backup plan", then likely it will not be sustainable and the concept of relay will fade away - and that takes away a major element of private adoption, community growth, channel based growth etc.
Nostr is bigger than just a social media - there's a reason why ICQ failed mainstream adoption. How would this impact a larger growth beyond social media ?
I'm taking that relay users may not experience content on par with P2P users. The existence of P2P suggests differentiation; otherwise, P2P wouldn't be necessary
The world is not balanced in terms of infrastructure, and high usage can be from out of US - even in Twitter, 70% of users are global users. How does this infringe on majority of users who have resource problems ? The challenge goes back and forth between quality and accessibility for more users
Is this compatible between clients who opt for relays only ? I remember the image conversation we had previously on non compatibility between clients.
I'm not dissuading this thought. You are quite a genius no doubt but and I just want to bring in the pragmatic perspective adoption as the world at large is not the same.
What’s the resource expectation for users ? And how will impact scalability at all corners of the world when it hits mainstream spread ?
I like Red Hot Chili Pepper's Otherside. That can go on in a loop. Took me a long time before i paid attention to the lyrics lol. That and Meatloaf's I'd do anything (the version with Lorraine Crosby)
I never had bbq as good as I did in texas - that was an experience
yea, also its good to have competitions. Keep things exciting lol. But i wish people are talking more about Nostr vs Blusky instead of Bluesky vs Twitter. Because then, it will build public hype for protocol based social media.
Jon's also right, Nostr is a long term project and Nostr dev's have it harder because unlike other competitions, Nostr is a place for everyone with all kinds of mindset. Like you said, it will be the real public town square.
One thing I appreciated really late in entrepreneurship is the influence of marketing on everything. I have been sharing a lot of marketing books of late and i have 2 more and i hope nobody gets upset by it!
maximise your sunshine day
this is a great note. People who are convinced of one thing can be very triggered and angry when they are shown a possibility of a different perspective. It's actually really scary.
Its easier to divide people than to bring them together
there are plenty of articles, research papers, videos etc on it available online - as this study has been around for over a century

weekend moods : last week felt like a cross between Mona Lisa's Smile and The Godfather. This week - Gangsta's Paradise
i still think of that badass 24kg kettlebell. than I look at my cute 2kg pink dumbbells.
I look forward to the day where Nostr becomes a place for the left and the right, and those who are politically atheist, to meet each other halfway.
And while there's been a lot of talks of Nostr not doing to well compared to X,Y,Z - this is the only real public town square right now.
And I look forward to the day where the term "bitcoiner" will no longer be special - only because everyone globally is a bitcoiner.
What a beautiful thing to look forward to, for the world to be given a chance to heal
smartphones and PCs have infrared sensors that can track your eye movements. In fact, this industry is so popular it is worth half a trillion and expected to triple in the next 5 years. How your eye moves defines your interest and engagement and has been used to gauge what types of ads engages and influences people since the 80s. Today the tech has expanded so vast that it can be used from your phone, VRs, computers. We probably won't know the full scope of how this data is mined and used back on us. But the fact that everything can be tracked and likely without your permission is stifling
sometimes, opportunities show up when you least expect it. don't lose faith
This was a simple post on what happens when left and right meets. The responses were kinda scary and unexpected. But when I thought about it, the world is so divided that any form of meeting each other halfway right now, is unbearable for so many.
Democracy is only at its best when people have the power. And people can only have the power when they come together. But gov'ts have a done a great jobs with divide and conquer. On top of that, religious manipulations, military oppression and they get to control social media too.
I know there's been a lot of talks on Nostr not doing to well compared to X,Y,Z - but the only real public town square right now, is right here.
In Nostr, there is no "only left" or "only right" (maybe "only zaps" =) ). On top of Nostr devs developing and growing these platforms, they will face the challenges of the left and right coming together. It's going to be chaotic, messy, narcissistic, angst and all of it.
But this is how the world will start its healing process.
And the beauty of Nostr is, everyone will get to find what they love through diff clients and relays
I could have responded better and that's my learning curve. I guess when it comes to politics I'm a bit of an atheist. And while these conversations are not the most pleasant thing, it's a great reminder of the many stumbling blocks we will face before we can all meet each other halfway. And I look forward to the day when that happens.

Well said Roya. Nostr is for everybody. But given how divided the world is, Nostr would be a rare occasion for everyone comes together. People are going to be pissy, nasty and that's ok. You do you. Always. Don't ever forget that
lol. this is so good
you can explore from a historical, political and social perspectives - there are millions of books and great authors in these areas. For example if you want to explore on the plight of the blacks, you can go by timeframe - check out from the 60's to the 90s in both the US and North Africa, or the early 1900s in the US or the 19th century tied to colonosisation, caribean, agriculture, pirates. Abuse of cops and bias can be either nuance or globally visible. All these topics are very interlinked. I read a few hundred a year and have a number of book reviews on nostr, but given that you are easily triggered and your comments are rather mean, I hope you would be more comfortable unfollowing me. As otherwise, everything might seem controversial for you. Live, laugh, love is a great quote and reminder, and one of my favourite. One to do more of.
