That’s interesting. What books are these? 2 other traits that I see also diminishing with traditional education is not being afraid to try and fail and try again, and as well as the natural curiosity in wanting to learn things. I think all these traits are really precious. With rigid curriculum and rote memorisation, failures are punished, feared making people afraid to try things out of their boundaries. And even one requiring absolute creativity like arts tend to be within a predefined expectation. Good luck with your startup exposure and wishing you big things in the future
all of the initiatives sounds great and oh yea, i'd totally up the game on vitamin C. And with your wife on garlic =) i had bronchitis as a kid for a very long time, I remember the menthol crystals in hot water and just inhaling the vapour was pretty helpful with clearing up the lungs. If it lingers on perhaps an extra option to try. Hope you feel better soon!
This interview was very nicely done nostr:npub179esgzvcfqdukff5556r86hm34h2f3asu87xg4egxpr3leplca7syep48v. I loved the questions, and your mannerism, patience, flow was absolutely excellent. Last i saw an interview with incredible mannerism was the exchange between nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m and nostr:npub1sn0wdenkukak0d9dfczzeacvhkrgz92ak56egt7vdgzn8pv2wfqqhrjdv9. I look forward to watching your other interviews and reading your blog
Ironically I read about a month back or so ‘'Some thoughts concerning education' by John Locke and his tabula rasa and 'Emile' by Jean Jacques Rousseau and his sequence of maturity- and I can understand why David Deutsch thought both their processes were a little narrow.
I have some questions for you given you are a high school dropout :
1. Many famous people Picasso, Einstein, Maslow and a lot of known psychologists Skinner, Carol Dweck, and education reformist Ken Robinson, George Carlin etc talked about children being very creative when they are young and unfortunately get suppressed by the traditional systems over time and lose this creativity. When you compare yourself with your peers, do you see this change happening?
2. Children are highly divergent (idea generation), and as we get older, we also train our convergent thoughts (problem solving, execution) - how are you exercising your mind - is it based on what you are passionate about and you take it on from there and see where it leads you ? Or are you self learning everything taught in higher learning but on your own terms ? Or is it by experience ? Or a mix ?
3. Do you feel more at peace in being able to learn what you want to and move forward, when you remove yourself from the traditional education system ?
I have been reading a lot of traditional education for children and young adults and many innovations that try to hack this systems. So it is very interesting to see this and hear about you. I wish you all the best in your future, keep the passion and fire going!
Another similar story on legal workarounds is the Dallas Buyers Club initiative on bringing in medicinal drugs from overseas
TIL, camel milk is a thing. This is apparently quite a popular enterprise by the Amish-Mennonite community in Miller, Missouri. Because selling raw milk is illegal in the US unless you own the farm and have raw milk for "own consumption", one way to go about is it to establish dairy association with private membership, likely involves individuals becoming members by buying into the livestock or some collective stock options. It then operates within the legal framework by framing the consumption as a membership privilege rather than a commercial transaction, thus allowing folks to drink raw milk while complying with the law.

ooo nice! what's it about ? this dork would totally volunteer as draft reader =) i think it helps to have a very basic outline - but often time, even for non fiction, letting creativity flow is very satisfying.
we can try them all and see what sticks =)
I'm guessing no harm trying? as long we get past talking and start trying these angle. Btw who are these types of activist and social media experts ?
Oh no! Those stuff can wear you out. Are you allergic to anything particular during winter? What do you guys normally do with lungs issues ? inhalers/ gas or menthol vapours or ginger immunity shot (ginger, orange, lemon, pepper, tumeric, honey). I've seen Barbara O'Neil's recommendation of onion on feet to absorb toxins out - she has a few natural flu bomb remedies
No harm trying! What's the 5 important things to do to achieve this ?
Affogato! This place makes it seem like you are on a permanent holiday =)
just saw this - looks nasty with 7.6 magnitude and highest tsunami alert. Hope you and your family are safe from it
