hey luke, how do you find monero?
yep. these bastards froze my money and wanted to shotgun-kyc me. after being very incessant and month of email exchange and threatening them with a lawyer they sent my money back. it's a shame that monerotalk is still advertising them.
your ngu doesn't work for a long time now. don't know if you haven't realized it yet. it worked good when blackrock and usa weren't in and grandmas and grandpas weren't "stacking sats" through etfs and pension funds. this isn't the niche thing anymore when stakes were incredibly high and thus were the pumps. you rest on past laurels and keep on blathering narratives from long bygone times like a cranky grandpa. your btc can't even compete with dogecoin anymore π and tbh monero is doing pretty good DESPITE of being banned from almost everywhere. have some respect.
i feel you brother. they got you from the bitcoin side of things, right? insist on your rights. tell them they are free to step back from conducting business with you and to send the bitcoin back to the same address, but that they have no right to freeze money based on loose assumptions. good luck
be incessant! I finally got my money back, without KYC of course, but it's a shame that Monerotalk is still advertising these assholes
i never used Bisq2, only Bisq, sorry
I definitely agree with you on that one! as a matter of fact this has annoyed me by far the most when i was arguing with people about kyc / nokyc in the past. kyc is a legally defined term. it is not an ambiguous term, yet people use the term arbitrarily to justify their bitcoin purchases on exchanges/brokers and quack something they picked up from their favorite influencer (>bro buying on Bisq or even with cash is kyc because they see your face and even if you cover your face they can track your cars license plate and follow you home blablabla!<) nothing more annoying than that. anyway, happy no-kyc-stacking :)
Robosats should do it even on degoogled smartphones like yours since it doesn't rely on any google services. just open the Tor browser and give it a go :>
i am not denying any of that but at least Bisq is open-source software which you can even build yourself and run it on your local machine whereas HodlHodl is just wild code running in your browser which is provided by a centralized legal entity. which one is more verifiable? you don't need the token. it is optional. i never bought or used their token. you need an initial no-kyc-stack though. nothing is 100% secure and private but it is very obvious here which of both is superior regarding privacy, security and resistance. never let perfect be the enemy of the good
i can assure you 100% that banknotes are not tracked. this is pure fearmongering. the serial numbers on it are bullshit. and Bisq is obviously much better than HodlHodl. no centralized servers involved, every peace of information is stored locally, no e-mail addresses needed and Tor-only. there is no need for centralized services like HodlHodl which by itself is a legal entity which has to abide by the law (which Bisq is not). as long as Bisq exists, why would anyone want to use HodlHodl. makes no sense.
Owning KYC #bitcoin is like saying you have a girlfriend, but she lives at the IRS and you have to ask the IRS permission to take her anywhere.
And the IRS charges you a huge cut for keeping an eye on her.

you're pissing against the wind my friend. it's too late. this space changed a lot within the last three or four years. greediness has eaten brain
hehe funny isn't it? and yet people are happy to undergo a full kyc process on Strike, River and Swan to buy bitcoin
a real treasury trove indeed
The Fountain podcast app is corrupt bullshit
It's NOT "Powered by the Bitcoin Lightning Network"
It's a custodial bank account, closed source app, hosted on Amazon, with Gmail verification, letting you insert an RSS feed to one government domain.
Unlike the Arweave RSS system I presented yesterday,
Which is true and genuine freedom and censorship resistance by transcending physical locations with the files served on a 30+ gateway global CDN, going directly peer-to-peer,
With Fountain, you're putting your private Nostr key in a closed source mobile app, served to you by the censorship oppressors Google and Apple. They use the word "open" on their website, but their github doesn't have the code itself: https://github.com/fountain-fm
You think you're using peer-to-peer Bitcoin? It's a custodial bank account.
Look at this bullshit:
"Fountain charges a 4% transaction fee on top of every payment you make to a podcast but you can join Fountain Premium to reduce your fees to just 1%. We also charge 10 sats for comments and replies to reduce spam."
In Summary:
--Not Bitcoin, it's a bank account.
--Zero Censorship Resistance, Regular Files
--Insert Private Nostr key into closed source
--Heavy integration with Big Tech
--Surveillance of who is listening
--Leeching Bitcoin fees for RSS feeds and Nostr, which are both peer-to-peer without Fountain
You're being manipulated to reject real solutions like Arweave RSS, so these institutions can maintain power and control.
100%. i neither use their app nor would i ever import my nsec there. its remarkable how every time when they attend a podcast show no one ever is going to ask them why their app is closed-source. totally staged. and i already noticed that so far they dodged every question on nostr regarding the closed-sourceness
i mean, yes, but look, there are also indeed some die-hard bitcoiners out there who dedicated their lives to bitcoin but publicly admit that they also like, hold and use monero and there are many others but they keep it for themselves, probably because they don't want to get grilled from the cult
