KYC requires proof of identity, proof of address, biometric data and financial information to verify the identity and legitimacy of the customer. What happens where at @HodlHodl? Or what is the difference to other platforms?

What Bank Account?

Phone Number?

On which settings I have to save this attributes?

U need on every platform a #Bitcoin address.

Don't get it. 🤷 But I am open for new input.

If that is the case. Then every application you currently use can be considered as KYC.

Everywhere you go you can tap into metadata and, if you're malicious enough, chat and transfer data.

Then you have to exchange P2P cash for sats and even that is not 100% secure. Because bill movements can also be tracked. (And they do)

Then only one thing remains. #Bitcoin #mining and receiving an equivalent value through physical services and paying with #Bitcoin.

Robosats does not keep any logs, neither does lnp2pbot, neither does bisq, I think you are justifying yourself for using hodlhodl which is a centralized service.

Read the other stuff

i can assure you 100% that banknotes are not tracked. this is pure fearmongering. the serial numbers on it are bullshit. and Bisq is obviously much better than HodlHodl. no centralized servers involved, every peace of information is stored locally, no e-mail addresses needed and Tor-only. there is no need for centralized services like HodlHodl which by itself is a legal entity which has to abide by the law (which Bisq is not). as long as Bisq exists, why would anyone want to use HodlHodl. makes no sense.

In the past, the software was totally daunting for beginners and you had to buy a token. The software can also be manipulated and or collect meta data. No software is 100% secure. As for nostr:nprofile1qqszw0ncsrfc6wd8lv3cal8cj4apkke8aqv3y75ys05h2st2p2g035spz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ukzcnvv5hx7un89uq32amnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwv3sk6atn9e5k7tcpzdmhxue69uhhqatjwpkx2urpvuhx2ue0psxmsq I think about the facts. Other apps on your smartphone or websites also have trade offs.

You never had to buy the BSQ token to use nostr:nprofile1qqsgqfapsalnnesrmt7xxfu7qp95akwlscw33n5pm8zrclt3xhdg7egprdmhxue69uhhyetvv9ujucnfw33k76twwpshy6ewvdhk6qgawaehxw309ahx7um5wghx6at5d9h8jampd3kx2apwvdhk6tcpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhscyvr9p. You could buy it if you wanted a 60% discount on the trading fees paid to the DAO. The metadata that can be collected through Bisq is simply the open offers on the network and the onion address associated with those offers.

Onion addresses can and should be reset periodically. The resetting of onion addresses doesn't change the account age either, since account ages are done on a per payment method basis.

If you choose to only take offers on Bisq and not leave maker offers on the platform then the amount of metadata shared across the Bisq network to all nodes is minimal. You could even reset your onion address after each trade.

Indeed.

But as I said. Recommending Bisq to a beginner who doesn't do anything with IT used to be a cramp. The UI was bad. Just my opinion.

Yes the UI/UX of Bisq 1 is not great. It is a power user platform. I have given presentations on it and been surprised with how some less technical people have managed to use the platofrm.

Bisq 2 has been a big improvement on UI/UX and allows people a smoother onboarding process. It is still desktop only for now, which is not ideal.

Yes

Unfortunately

I would like to buy while using my mobilephone while sitting on the couch. 😅

Use robosats. Works great on the couch (app and tor browser).

I have to admit I haven't used it for a while. Sometimes there were less offers.

That's sometimes the case but usually you'll have a matching offer

i am not denying any of that but at least Bisq is open-source software which you can even build yourself and run it on your local machine whereas HodlHodl is just wild code running in your browser which is provided by a centralized legal entity. which one is more verifiable? you don't need the token. it is optional. i never bought or used their token. you need an initial no-kyc-stack though. nothing is 100% secure and private but it is very obvious here which of both is superior regarding privacy, security and resistance. never let perfect be the enemy of the good

I still need something suitable for my smartphone. I don't want to sit at my notebook for every trade. Is there anything useful from Bisq now? (It has to run under GrapheneOS)

Robosats should do it even on degoogled smartphones like yours since it doesn't rely on any google services. just open the Tor browser and give it a go :>

Sometimes I use Robosats but when someone says platform XY is KYC, I think first and foremost of the official process. Passport, photo, annual income statement, address, sometimes videocall etc.

I will give Bisq an new chance. I will install it again later on my Linux.

I definitely agree with you on that one! as a matter of fact this has annoyed me by far the most when i was arguing with people about kyc / nokyc in the past. kyc is a legally defined term. it is not an ambiguous term, yet people use the term arbitrarily to justify their bitcoin purchases on exchanges/brokers and quack something they picked up from their favorite influencer (>bro buying on Bisq or even with cash is kyc because they see your face and even if you cover your face they can track your cars license plate and follow you home blablabla!<) nothing more annoying than that. anyway, happy no-kyc-stacking :)

Is there no escrow or something similar on Bisq2? Müßig 🤔

i never used Bisq2, only Bisq, sorry

Trade is done. It was easy.

Bisq 2 is a work in progress launched last year.

They plan to have many different trading protocols. For now Bisq 2 only has Bisq Easy protocol which is escrow less chat based protocol to buy from high reputation sellers.
