Anyone who’s talked to me over the last couple years about the technological flea circus the impressionable SillyCon Valley business press have been calling "AI", will have noticed that I pointedly refuse to call it “AI”. Instead I refer to it as “MOLE” and talk about “MOLE training”. I thought it was about time I wrote about why, in some detail.

It shows. It's repetitive and mildly self-contradictory. Although too vague to be wildly so.
Overall it leaves me thinking that if a government did pay a commercial license for a trained mole, anything it did would soak up huge amounts of time in auditing. Probably as much as those human just doing the whole job themselves.

If you're looking for a biological metaphor for current "AI" technology, I suggest a bee hive or an ant nest. To the degree that these have a collective "intelligence", that's a closer biological analog than a human of any age, or any kind of mammal (even a #MOLE).

After desktop GNU/Linux distro-hopping again, for the first time in more than a decade, I'm starting to understand why people still write off the desktop experience as not ready for primetime. For the most part, a fresh install gives you a working Win95-Win7 experience. Simpler or flasher, depending on your exact hardware combo. But in every version there's things that don't work as expected, and not even a rickety UI bridge to carry you across to a working (if janky) solution.

The "Nazi bar" analogy works for centralised platforms, like FarceBook, Xitter and dReddit (although more for subdReddits). It doesn't really work in decentralised networks.
If you think you disagree, keep in mind that the internet is a decentralised network. There are definitely Nazis on the internet. Does that mean that the internet is now a Nazi bar, which we should all avoid until the only people on the internet are Nazis?

It would be useful to have a #BugReporting platform that works independently of individual projects.
The interface would walk you through describing exactly what's bugging you, and help you tag in all the software projects that might be implicated. A triage process would then figure out which piece of software is actually causing the bug. The issue thread for the bug can then be cloned to the issue tracker of that project.
This would be much easier to do with #ForgeFederation.
