As a child of a CODA, it was a beautiful story with highly relatable subject matter for those who were CODA.

In case you missed it, Creed is on tour this year….

and killing it.

Did he just threaten everyone with being crushed by some amorphous entity if people don’t vote for him?

I have watched this man reach into a buffet line of food with his bare hands, take a bite out of what he took, then put it back into the buffet line and walk away like it was the most normal thing to do.

Would highly recommend not walking into any food and beverage establishment with 50-60 people on a Monday. They won’t be staffed or ready for you at all.

Give them a call 2+ weeks ahead of time and give them an informal heads up about the large walk in. They can staff up and you and your groups’ experience will be 10x better.

Now that right there is some solid advice.

Indeed I appreciate nature and collect keepsakes from travels. In the moment, the phrasing of finding a skull while doing chores sounded a bit absurd (discovering an unknown skull would usually be alarming), and my comment was just meant to reflect the comedy of that absurdity.

I hadn’t considered the notion that you were genuine in curiosity, and that my note could be interpreted as mockery.

If you do find out the species, I would love to learn of it as well!

Did you just try to make it sound casual to find a skull while cleaning your house?

Probably another allusion to his idea about network states. Essentially online communities / governments that then have enough money, clout, and people to enforce their laws. His book ā€œThe Network Stateā€ is quite good, goes into great depths about the subject (though is somewhat repetitive on these points).

Ah. That would be an interesting implementation.

Seems to have parallels to Rai Stones, passing ownership of the value rather than ā€œmovingā€ the value itself.

ā€œProtection, therefore, against the tyranny of the magistrate is not enough: there needs protection also against the tyranny of the prevailing opinion and feeling; against the tendency of society to impose, by other means than civil penalties, its own ideas and practices as rules of conduct on those who dissent from them; to fetter the development, and, if possible, prevent the formation, of any individuality not in harmony with its ways, and compel all characters to

fashion themselves upon the model of its own. There is a limit to the legitimate interference of collective opinion with individual independence: and to find that limit, and maintain it against encroachment, is as indispensable to a good condition of human affairs, as protection against political despotism.ā€

Excerpt From

On Liberty

John Stuart Mill

ā€œSociety can and does execute its own mandates: and if it issues wrong mandates instead of right, or any mandates at all in things with which it ought not to meddle, it practises a social tyranny more formidable than many kinds of political oppression, since, though not usually upheld by such extreme penalties, it leaves fewer means of escape, penetrating much more deeply into the details of life, and enslaving the soul itself.ā€

Excerpt From

On Liberty

John Stuart Mill

ā€œThe will of the people, moreover, practically means, the will of

the most numerous or the most active part of the people; the majority,

or those who succeed in making themselves accepted as the majority: the people, consequently, may desire to oppress a part of their number;

and precautions are as much needed against this, as against any other

abuse of power.

The limitation, therefore, of the power of government over individuals, loses none of its importance when the holders of power are regularly accountable to the community, that is, to the strongest party therein.ā€
