Two different solutions…BlueSky is a social network with portable identities or DIDs like your name/address/credit score/etc that you control and can share or repeal with anyone using the AT protocol.
Nostr is an open communications protocol where you use pub/priv key to control your identity, but it is ultimately encrypted and stored on relays.
Two sides of a similar coin. I can see a lot of similarities, but not the same honestly. At worst, hedging his bets…at best, building two different use-case products.

Oh no worries, I am with you completely. We’re here building, but once the grifters show up, it will be a totally different place. We need to ask these questions now and address them before they become a problem.

Time to tackle that “other stuff” category and do some good with our zaps addiction. My favorite non-profit, Infant Crisis Services, is hosting one of their annual fundraisers tonight. They provide food, formula and diapers for infants to toddlers 4 times a year thru age 3.
Many clients only use this service once, some as many as they are aloud, but everyone of them is in a dire situation to provide the base necessities for their babies.
Infant Crisis provides these services regardless of income/marital status/employment status/etc and gets no donations from United Way or state/federal funding to allow them to serve everyone.
So my ask is this: I’ve cleared my #[0] attached to this account leaving 100k Sats as the first donation (pictured below).
Every single Sat donated to this post or that hits my wallet tonight, will go to feeding and diapering the most vulnerable beings in our society.
I’m going to match up to 500k total (an addtl 400k). Can we get to 1 million Sats #4theBabies ?
Once all donations are in, I will make a public donation from Nostr via their website (or transfer directly if they want to provide a wallet address). Either way, proof will be provided thus I be publicly ridiculed forever.

I like the multisig idea. I don’t know a lot about the tip jar technology of the Lighting tip bot, but using the jar as a front end with something like a 3:3 or 5:5 multisig to direct the funds would be pretty secure and trustworthy in my opinion. Being on layer 2 definitely changes things since its off chain, but we have ways to still be transparent other than on chain activity. Good suggestion!

What a wild night, we raised over $1500 USD #4theBabies and Infant Crisis Services last night showcasing again what an incredible community this is and that what we are building here is truly something amazing.
For context, we have provided emergency support for the lives of about 10 babies and toddlers for an entire year off a single post and a few cents at a time.
We’re currently sitting at 6.6m Sats raised and donations are still trickling in, so I’m gonna send it over to ICS this afternoon and will continue to forward on any donations to this wallet for a few days.
🚨Some more good news, I’m also submitting this for my company match, so we’ve just doubled our impact for a total donation of $3000 USD, which means we are helping about 20 of our societies most vulnerable for an entire year!!
Congratulations and what a heck of a job! I hope others can take what we’ve done and build upon it to find worthy causes to support and maybe even better ways to do so in the future.
