I'd been putting off doing my taxes until some of the rage I felt toward the government for trying to destroy my business during covid subsided. It's not going anywhere though and now inflation has kicked in, rates are up and I'm stuck adding up my receipts and wondering why the fuck I'm paying tax anyway since the government thinks it's no biggie to just print as much money as they want.

Not yet, but we might have to look into that soon.

Just taught my 9 year-old son how to torrent movies from behind a VPN. They grow up so fast.

Can't listen to the whole thing just now but the first track is cool.

The real nightmare of CBDCs is that they're going to make it mandatory to own a smartphone. Government-programmable money is one thing, but the levels of oppression possible once everyone is forced to carry one of those things around is unimaginable and yet, not only is no one talking about it, people aree collaborating voluntarily.

One problem with alt tech platforms is that a lot of people just use them as a forum to whinge about Twitter. Let it go. Twitter has been shit for at least 7 years and you probably should've left a long time ago. Just be grateful that you're here now.

According to my nine year-old son, the word "meme" can be used to describe nearly anything amusing that is a variation on a theme. This extends to videos and even real life. When I ask what he and his school friends do at lunch, he says they just meme, ie. repeat stupid jokes to make each other laugh. Funny how the word "meme" has become a meme in itself.

Vintage 90s meme, printed on the back cover of my copy of "Industrial Society And Its Future."

Rupert Murdoch's first paper was my home town rag and it's currently the only daily paper on offer here. Any time someone talks about starting a rival publication Murdoch says he'll start giving his paper away for free just to drive them out. It's not about money, it's about power.

I get the argument that there would be a sudden spike in cases due to people not getting screened during lockdowns. It's bullshit, but there's at least an argument there to be refuted. That was nearly two years ago now and the fact they can't come up with a better explanation makes the truth of the situation all the more obvious.
