The intersection of skateboarding and bitcoin is one I can get down with.

The state is defined in its exteriority. It is self-perpetuating of the boundaries of the state. It creates boundaries, and steps outside them in order to create them. This services the finite game that is state control. The state is not in service of the infinite, though it may have began as an attempt to organize life in accordance with the good. The state steps outside of its boundaries and introduces forced variation.

For a system to function adaptively, it needs to introduce a certain amount of entropy in order to introduce variation. When James Carse talked about the need for religion to be open instead of ideological, this is the genuine introduction of variation, cycling through integration, disintegration, and re-integration. This revitalizes systems through natural variation and is in service of the infinite so long as it is not monopolized by state control.

But the forced variation of the state is only to insure the success of the state within the finite game. Within the boundaries it creates. The system is a closed loop with synthetic variation. Through stepping outside of the juridical system to change the order, the state, along with its technique and its bureaucracies, perpetuate themselves in order to win their well-defined, finite game.

Lean into the religiosity of good ideas. But instead of closing your mind, locking to the one attractor within that idea, ask yourself continually if it is serving its purpose well. If it is not serving its purpose well, don’t abandon it. Instead, allow it to disintegrate, and reintegrate it. The process of self-organizing criticality, collapsing in on itself in order to create a stronger base for that idea.

Share the idea, but don’t proselytize the idea in and of itself, proselytize the merits of the disintegration and reintegration of the idea. Come to know the idea again. Through process. Participate in the propositional, drawing it out of the conceptual and into the emergent reality of those words, those ideas. What are the causal effects of the ideas you espouse? Are they transcendental? Inclusionary? Exclusionary? Are they in service of a generational project? Will they build the ground floor of the cathedral? Are they building on top of an existing cathedral? Where will the idea take you, if you truly embrace that it is not rigid, that it is fluid, yet structured.

Flowing through a culture.

Build it, let it sit within the culture you create, and surround yourself with. Let it move through the distributed nature of our consciousness, our shared cognition, our sacrament. Let it flow into others as they can accept it, let it be theirs, not yours. Don’t lose sight of the projects that benefit from the idea. Remember why you came to the idea.

Avoid the trappings of an idea becoming ideology while still finding ideas to live and die for.

Exactly. While I personally resonate with many of the libertarian memes of Bitcoin, it has to be post-political. It’s shortsighted to want to make people feel excluded people based on their ideologies. If we want Bitcoin to win, it has to be your enemies money too.

Yes, the Trudeau government is requiring big tech to pay for the news they share. Not clear to me if Trudy just does not understand incentives, and that these companies would inevitably decline to pay and stop sharing news, or if this was what he was going for. I can’t see it being the latter as Canadian media (and all it’s government funding) always has kid gloves on for ol’ Justin and paints the mini-tyrant in a good light. I am still seeing news in my feeds but all these outlets are saying within days it wi be gone. And apparently it is already gone for many users.

My lesson from my first outing is avoid curved surfaces as it will make the QR code difficult to scan. Rookie move. But it’s visible on a busy waterfront with lots of foot traffic. More to come.
