Coming back to this essay as I approach a crossroads in my career path. Do I compromise or move forward with integrity?

Woke up today with intentionality and did the things I know I should be doing.
Kept my phone on sleep mode for first hour of the day. Stretched, meditated, hydrated, made some coffee, and read an important book.
I know very well that I must be intentionally ordering my psyche. But the pull of legacy social media knocks me out of that. I’ve found myself reaching for my phone as I wake. And this is sabotaging my day from the get go.
Time to remember what I always knew and take care to order my psyche.

I was at University of Toronto in 2017/2018. I got to see him speak a number of times as his star was rising. Was able to attend one of his biblical series lectures on Jacob’s Ladder. That time was so full of hope for an intellectual and spiritual renaissance.
The spirit of that era lives on, but Peterson has lost the plot.
I do highly recommend engaging with the work of one of his colleagues, John Vervaeke. I’m lucky to be a former student of his. His YouTube series Awakening from the Meaning Crisis (and now the book) is an amazing body of work. Watching the entire series, 50 episodes, is the equivalent of taking 5 or 6 of John’s university courses for free.

Second person I’ve seen say this in my scrolling. Maybe you’re onto something.
It’s true. I’ve largely given up trying to convince people. But sad that political tribalism will stop them from adoption.
Yeah and a lot are gonna take the view of “who cares, HFSP”. But we’ve gotta avoid that type of division.
