I can't agree more, the man believes in politics interviewed netanyahu...then he simply does not get bitcoin, true history and many other things. Looks like any other establishment gatekeeper.
There is such thing as going too far.
That happens a lot in the dev land. Devs tend to over time spend more time satisfying their own needs over the needs of their users. New frameworks, new rewrites, bikeshedding, doing things for the sake of their own....
It's something I try to pay a lot of attention to but most of us are terrible at realizing when it happens.

What did for me was his interview with Netanyahu. Absolutely disgusting spineless piece if shit.

I came into Bitcoin 3 years ago through his interview with Saifedean Ammous: Bitcoin vs fiat. The immaculate conception.
3 months of learning later I finally "understood" Bitcoin and was a maxi/Bitcoin-only. To this day Jordan Peterson seems like he still doesn't get it.. He should stop making appearances everywhere and learn a bit more
What did he do this time?
In recent months he had been trying to come up with a rule of thumb for policy and law, and he realized that voluntary, informed consent was the best candidate, and then while talking to Michael Malice, realized that pure anarchism might be the way. Then a few weeks later he was yelling at everyone to vote conservative as if votes matter. He's still a moron in that he's a statist and has an exaggerated importance in his mind placed on political change, when individuals can do far more good by engaging in discussions very much like the ones he spawns, and cleaning their rooms. He is ignoring the logical conclusions of his own damn advice and insights.

I was very inspired by his original works. He lost his differentiating and inspiring factor when he removed himself from the work that taught him the lessons he preached. Going full time as a podcaster/interviewer/political commentator was a mistake. It removed him from the environment that taught him so many valuable lessons and allowed him to connect with the comman man. It's a true shame.

I was at University of Toronto in 2017/2018. I got to see him speak a number of times as his star was rising. Was able to attend one of his biblical series lectures on Jacob’s Ladder. That time was so full of hope for an intellectual and spiritual renaissance.
The spirit of that era lives on, but Peterson has lost the plot.
I do highly recommend engaging with the work of one of his colleagues, John Vervaeke. I’m lucky to be a former student of his. His YouTube series Awakening from the Meaning Crisis (and now the book) is an amazing body of work. Watching the entire series, 50 episodes, is the equivalent of taking 5 or 6 of John’s university courses for free.

If you want to test individuals knowledge of economics: ask what he thinks about bitcoin
If you want to test individuals basic abilities to think: ask what he thinks about rusians genocidal war against Ukraine
As simple as that. Maybe litmus test is not the best phrase here, but this is what we’ve used at school to test stuff

I still owe him a lot for initially getting me out of the woke communist mindset that I had at the time. His interview with saifedean was also my first contact point with bitcoin.
He is a great learning for me now in the sense that I learned to differentiate the person from the ideas: I still agree with some ideas, but I do not need to stay attached to his person.
For a period of time, he was my contact point online for the sovereign individual.
