Played around with it a bit. It works, but still in alpha so don't put too much on it
I’m super surprised XRM hasn’t rugged yet considering it’s a hard fork of Bytecoin and is anonymous.
That was the whole reason it was forked from it
Well, huge caveat: Cashu is custodial.
But if you're going to use something like WoS or another custodial solution might as well be anonymous or private to the mint and others. Definitely better though. I wonder if it's possible for Cashu to implement multi-custody to reduce chance of being rugged. I know Fedi is doing something similar.
I should be asleep 😂
Will set up when I wake up. Can you point me to a guide? Any way to implement Cashu in zaps somehow?
Likelihood depends on rate of growth. Atm I don't believe it will be a problem. Especially with future Seraphis modularity and efficiency upgrades. I'm running a node right now 150ish GB.
Aeon (not a maxi of either, user of both) would be a great person to give you a better high quality answer to this type of question. I believe he is going to present at Monerotopia in May: https://twitter.com/aeonbtc

But for now I leave you with this to chew over:

I started off a Bitcoin maxi and very slowly Monero arguments were undeniable (trade-offs, neither is perfect, depends on goals). Monero captures the original spirit of p2p digital cash imo.
Right now it is about half and half. I own Bitcoin because longterm it has proven itself to be the most stable store of value (so far). It is the most liquid crypto, and most secure in terms of raw energy behind mining. Not as decentralized as Monero mining though.
I'm tempted everyday to go all in on Monero. Everyday I consider why I still own Bitcoin maybe it is just my old maxi soft spot. If it wasn't for Samourai and Whirlpool, I'm not sure I would be in Bitcoin at all. Love those guys and that community.
Did you listen to BTCSession's story?
You verify both Bitcoin and Monero supply in the same fashion - by running a node. Monero is more complex math, but math nonetheless.
But in practice, verifying is exactly the same. Why? Because no bitcoiner is manually tallying all UTXOs every time they audit to make sure it is correct. They just run a node.
"Fiat is highly sought after. Bitcoin is a question mark on many peoples minds, if they have heard of it at all.
"Why use bitcoin?""
Can easily flip that argument
An open transparent ledger makes you an easy target. Ask the Canadian truckers.
If I hand you cash, it is naturally a private transaction between me and you. It isn't broadcast to the world and is irrelevant and uneccessary.
Every note is fungible with any of like kind. You can't discern the history of a $100 bill. It means no friction in transacting.
Monero ticks those boxes.
It tells you it actually works.
Better for Monero. No KYC or custodian cuckage. Less speculation and paper Monero.
Also, P2P, no intermediaries remember? Did you read the white paper?
Is the darknet market not a circular economy?
Bitcoin does have more liquidity.
There are many shortcomings. You're just too afraid to be honest.
Who said I don't have or use bitcoin lol? Just pointing out its shortcomings.
I will mess around with it sometime this weekend for you.
I like what Calle is doing with Cashu.
What are you gonna do ban me from Nostr? 😛
He uses Ztrash. I wouldn't look to him for any sort of confirmation.
