Meanwhile I'm over zapping people for sharing clips of our show.

Oh I meant I was going to checkout the guide. If you're saying it was pretty straightforward then that's awesome.

that guide ( https://andreneves.xyz/p/how-to-setup-a-paid-nostr-relay ) was pretty decent

few things to note

- the default postgres configuration requires 16GB of ram - I trimmed it WAY back so I could run it on a free tier aws machine.

- Apparently ZeBedee has some restrictions on what state / country you can live in - it denied me from FL so I used a VPN

- however - for a production API key - you need to provide ID - so you should check the legal restrictions for ZeBeDee

wss://relay.tnctec.com is up -- I will leave it a while -- you should be whitelisted

I'll check this out tomorrow. I'm on baby duty tonight

I just want a relay on our domain, preferably paid, that I can play around with. I have some ideas for how to use the paid relay as a way to distribute premium/paid content rather than substack.

I'm really just struggling to find a walkthrough or guide to follow that explains how to do it on AWS. Since that is where I have the most experience. I don't really have time to learn a new "stack" these days 😂

Would that be exposed to the internet via dns? I want our listeners to be able to connect

Before we had the baby we were toying with the idea of setting up a booth at our farmers market and recording the podcast live. Answering questions in real time and selling our merch for Bitcoin and or selling Bitcoin.

But alas we have a 3 month old so that idea got put on the back burner, but one day. We're still so early

I have plenty of AWS experience, I'm just looking for a guide.

What version of #damus are you running?

The short answer is yes. You need to share at least on relay with the person you want to follow in order to see there content. If you have their public key you can follow but you wont see their content until you both share a relay. That's why Damus and snort are two important relays to join. Both public and both have probably most people you're looking for

Also make sure anywhere you've set your WoS as your lightning address you change it to your Alby address

But yeah also watch BTC sessions videos. They are a great starting point. That's how I finally got my #lightning all setup on my #umbrel

Technically your wallet isn't "on" your node. Your wallet is your public/private key pair which you can think of as your 12/24 words. If you enter those words into an app like sparrow, then sparrow will be able to sign and publish Bitcoin transactions on your behalf. It does this by broadcasting the transaction to a node that then broadcasts the transaction to the Bitcoin network.

Most apps have a default #Bitcoin node that they all use to do this, but if you have your own node you can configure an app to send your transactions to your node instead of the default. This adds additional layer of security and privacy.

Make sense?
