Thailand News :

Quartet charged with tying up Ukrainian in hotel room and forcing him to hand over millions in Tether digital tokens.

Phuket police have arrested four foreigners – two Ukrainians, one Armenian and a Russian – for allegedly robbing a Ukrainian tourist of 8.5 million baht in Tether (USDT) cryptocurrency.

The four suspects were arrested at 1am on Monday at the Palm Inn Hotel in Phang Nga’s Takua Pa district after their alleged victim Viacheslav Leibov, 23, filed a complaint with the Kamala police station in Phuket on Sunday.

The four suspects were identified as Armenian national Arman Grigoryan, 21, Ukrainians Alfred Chernyshuk (19) and Ruslan Musalev (22) and Russian Miraz Atoian (21).

They were charged with robbery with weapons and unlawful detention.

Leibov alleges that Chernyshuk invited him to his Phuket hotel room at 10.45pm on Friday night, where he found Grigoryan also present.

Leibov told police that when he went to use the toilet, two masked men hiding inside overpowered him and bound his arms and legs with ropes and cable ties. He said Grigoryan then threatened to break his finger with a hammer unless he transferred digital currency worth half a million US dollars to the gang. Grigoryan was wielding a hammer while one of the masked men was holding a long knife, he said.

Leibov said he managed to negotiate the ransom price down to half the original sum. After he transferred 8.5 million baht in digital currency, the robbers tied him to a bed, packed their belongings and left the hotel room.

He told police that he eventually managed to struggle free, before checking with the hotel that Chernyshuk and Grigoyan had rented the room.

He said he then raced to Phuket airport on his motorcycle in a bid to catch the robbers. After failing to find them, he filed the complaint on Sunday.

Police said one of the suspects regularly purchased USDT from Leibov and targeted him in the knowledge he was holding large quantities of the cryptocurrency.

The owner of the hotel where the alleged robbery took place told One 31 TV station that he witnessed Leibov being tied up by masked men but thought they were filming YouTube content as he heard no sounds of struggle.

A Blaze of colors in the halls of the 19th c. Castello di Sammezzano, Reggello,- Florence - Moorish Revival architectural style.

A mysterious and fascinating place in Moresque style.

Sammezzano Castle is one of the most mysterious and fascinating places in Tuscany.

Built in the mid-nineteenth century as a monument to oriental art by the Marquis Ferdinando Panciatichi Ximenes d'Aragona, Sammezzano is an incredible mix of Arabesque elements inspired by the Alhambra in Granada, Masonic and even Indian symbols: majestic arches, finely inlaid walls, arabesques, rooms theme and a breathtaking assortment of patterns and colors that can make your head spin.

Between 1853 and 1898, the Marquis threw up his enormous substances to create this amazing kaleidoscope of oriental suggestions in Reggello, not far from Florence. Using only local workers (the kiln for ceramic majolica was placed in the park around the building) the Castle has grown year after year, hand in hand with the isolation of the Marquis.

The castle has 365 rooms, one for every day of the year and each room has its own name and differs from the others.

The sumptuous Atrium of the Columns, with the relief of some pomegranates, leads to the vast Rotonda, an octagonal ballroom overlooked by the fifteen guest rooms, built entirely in Mudejar style.

There is the Room of Love and that of Mirrors, from the vault of which hundreds of muquarnas, the small stalactites typical of Islamic architecture, hang. The colorful "Indian" classrooms, such as that of the Gigli and - the most famous - immersed in bundles of bright psychedelic rainbows - the Peacock Room. And more: the White Room with Moroccan mosaic tiled floors and wrought iron chandeliers hanging from the ceilings, the Hall of Lilies, and also a small chapel.

In these spaces there are hidden niches, corners, windows, columns, labyrinthine paths, capitals, arches, vaults and domes.

🖤 crass rules!

"Yes that's right, punk is dead,

It's just another cheap product for the consumers head.

Bubblegum rock on plastic transistors,

Schoolboy sedition backed by big time promoters.

CBS promote the Clash,

But it ain't for revolution, it's just for cash.

Punk became a fashion just like hippy used to be

And it ain't got a thing to do with you or me.

Movements are systems and systems kill.

Movements are expressions of the public will.

Punk became a movement 'cause we all felt lost,

But the leaders sold out and now we all pay the cost.

Punk narcissism was social napalm,

Steve Jones started doing real harm.

Preaching revolution, anarchy and change

As he sucked from the system that had given him his name.

Well I'm tired of staring through shit stained glass,

Tired of staring up a superstars arse,

I've got an arse and crap and a name,

I'm just waiting for my fifteen minutes fame.

Steve Jones you're napalm,

If you're so pretty (vacant) why do you swarm?

Patti Smith you're napalm,

You write with your hand but it's Rimbaud's arm.

And me, yes I, do I want to burn?

Is there something I can learn?

Do I need a business man to promote my angle?

Can I resist the carrots that fame and fortune dangle?

I see the velvet zippies in their bondage gear,

The social elite with safety-pins in their ear,

I watch and understand that it don't mean a thing,

The scorpions might attack, but the systems stole the sting.

PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD.

PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD.

PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD."

Great lyrics.

Built since the third century BC, Volubilis (Morocco) had seen its share of residents - Phoenicians, Carthaginians, and Romans - before being taken back by the locals by 285.

The city fell to local tribes around 285 and was never retaken by Rome because of its remoteness and indefensibility on the south-western border of the Roman Empire.

It continued to be inhabited for at least another 700 years, first as a Latinised Christian community, then as an early Islamic settlement.

In the late 8th century it became the seat of Idris ibn Abdallah, the founder of the Idrisid dynasty of Morocco.

By the 11th century Volubilis had been abandoned after the seat of power was relocated to Fes.

Lennox Castle in Glasgow has a long, interesting, and at times, quite dark history. Built between 1837 and 1841, the castle was the home of John Lennox Kincaid.

The house was purchased by the Glasgow Corporation in 1927 and turned into a hospital for people with learning disabilities.

Unfortunately, it was said that the hospital was overcrowded, underfunded, and understaffed. When it closed in 1982, patients were found to be malnourished.

The hospital also housed a maternity unit where singer Lulu and footballer John Brown were born.

"Hidden Potential: The Science of Achieving Greater Things" by Adam Grant is an inspiring exploration of how individuals can unlock their latent abilities and achieve remarkable success. In this book, Grant, an organizational psychologist, challenges the conventional wisdom that innate talent is the primary driver of achievement. Instead, he argues that persistence, effort, and the right mindset are crucial for realizing one's potential.

The book emphasizes that many people underestimate their capabilities and often give up on challenging pursuits due to a belief that they lack the necessary talent. Grant encourages readers to rethink their approach to success, suggesting that the true measure of potential lies not in the heights one reaches but in the journey and growth experienced along the way. He shares stories of ordinary individuals who have accomplished extraordinary things through determination and resilience, providing hope and motivation for readers.

Grant also offers practical strategies for unlocking hidden potential, making the book a valuable resource for parents, educators, and leaders. He highlights the importance of fostering environments that encourage growth and learning, which can help individuals thrive and achieve greater things.

It was originally built in gratitude for victory at the Battle of Lake Regillus (495 BC).

Castor and Pollux were the Dioscuri, the "twins" of Gemini, the twin sons of Zeus (Jupiter) and Leda.

Their cult came to Rome from Greece via Magna Graecia and the Greek culture of Southern Italy
