Obviously changing the #lightning bulb
Well the one shortcoming would be that there are even less users?!
What sucks is that it schut's down no matter what... So if you use it as your alarm it might just leave you hanging (sleepingint this case)
Happened already twice
🇨🇦Let’s check in on Canazuela, shall we?

So sad to see what happened/is happening in Canada...
Been there many many years ago, loved it, great people, lovely nature!!! Dreaming of going back one day
Really hurts to see
8 years ago today former Bitcoin developer Mike Hearn explained why #Bitcoin has failed:

https://blog.plan99.net/the-resolution-of-the-bitcoin-experiment-dabb30201f7
He worked "for" Bitcoin and thought he knows everything about it...
He forgot to stay humble, so he has been humbled
Wieso so werden die videos eigentlich so lange nach dem Interview veröffentlicht?
Wise words Derek... Wise words
This will become the standard
Most heating elements could use bitcoin mining as it's a nobrainer... Using the energy to do two things instead of one
Of cource, there are small heating elements that might not be worth the hastle/price to make it in to a miner, but except super small things and things that aren't in use much will implement mining
#privacytechpro privacy tool recommendations:
if you want to share a link a yt video on desktop in a way that isn't tracked by #google / #youtube, use #invidious (a youtube frontend) to share
*note
*isn't tracked by google
*always use a vpn.
from invidious faq:
"Q: What data is shared with YouTube?
A: By default, the video stream is fetched directly from Google's servers (googlevideo.com) in order to reduce the bandwidth required by invidious, meaning that Google will be able to see your IP address and some other data commonly sent by web browsers, like your user-agent string.
If you don't want that to happen, you can go to the preferences page and check the Proxy videos option. When this option is enabled, the Invidious instance will be used as a relay (also known as a "proxy") between you and Google's servers, which will hide your IP address and the other information sent by your browser."
go to https://invidious.io/ -> tap 'use invidious' -> choose a server -> paste the yt link in the search box -> tap share
on desktop you can use the ff extension called #LibRedirect to make this process much faster (there is a library of other front-ends included)
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/
on #android i recommend #UntrackMe for easy front-end privacy respecting link sharing
https://framagit.org/tom79/nitterizeme
it's only available on f-droid.
*note: if you have to use f-droid, i recommend f-droid basic (it has unattended updates)
https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.fdroid.basic/
also...
#LibreTube (more private) or #NewPipe are both great front-end apps for watching and sharing yt videos on android
#NewPipe
or #LibreTube (more private...it proxies all requests via piped and prevents google servers from accessing your ip address) are both awesome youtube front-end apps for watching and sharing
read about the differences here:
https://github.com/libre-tube/LibreTube#differences-to-newpipe
pro tip: use an always-on vpn like #mullvad
or #protonvpn
https://github.com/protonvpn/android-app
...and take advantage of their splittunneling function to keep the vpn always-on but still exclude specific apps (proton also allows web addresses) from the vpn for apps/sites that don't play nicely with vpns (and many payment processors)
and as always, i recommend using #GrapheneOS for the best privacy and security on android ( factory unlocked recent-ish #pixel required )
#cybersecgirl #privacy #tools #opensource #android #grapheneos
This is a gregreat note thanks
Already using #GrapheneOS, and Newpipe (also have libretube, but wasn't sure about the differences, and so didn't do the switch for now
Also I procrasginanted on the always-on VPN... My fully doxed user is always-on, but my mane is not, the apeed decrease kills me
Next time I get a new phone I might go even a step further... No more local carrier (only silent link), always on VPN&dich all my old doxed acc... Family and friends who care will live with it... The rest can go f themself
Esta bien para jente que sabe lo que hace.... Pero para la jente normal un Hardware Wallet esta mucho mejor
También para la jente que sabe un HWW de qualidad es mucho mas simple y seguro
"But Women are not" or what's the message here?! WTF 😅
Naaa m8 don't do it, it isn't FOSS nor end-to-end encrypted!
Same, i refused to use it for a long time, but constantly had people talking about Telegram groups
So in the end reluctantly I installed it...
On my anyway compromised User (on #grapheneOS) but still... Really confused about why they all use it so much and torn if I shouldn't just through it out again
What about Signal and Three a though?! By being open source I believe theiy should better?!
Are you saying that you don't see a check of this kind as a strong enough proof that the devise is genuine? Is it easily spoofed?
Maybe with the help of AI or simply a lot of time I could build from source, but if for example I'm lending the device to a friend so that he can set up a secure wallet, without having to immediately make the investment in to a HWW it's a harder sell
On the other hand with a HWW that does implement a "genuine check" function it's easier to feel comfortable with it
But it seams you're saying it's a false feeling of safety that in the end might make you even more vulnerable

Hey there I'm in freefall down a BIP85/Passphrase/coldcard rabbit hole and took a path that got me in to squeching a zero knowledge backup skeem
tbh way out of my comfort zone and paygrade
In the end someone will look at it and very quickly tell me why it doesn't work, but hey, I'm having fun and I'm learning stuff by looking in to it!
Now to the actual thing I'm tagging you for:
I was wondering why the #Coldcard doesn't have a "genuinity" test mechanism
Of course, other devices like Ledger and nostr:npub1tg779rlap8t4qm8lpgn89k7mr7pkxpaulupp0nq5faywr8h28llsj3cxmt do use the companion app to perform the check
In orther to scam you both, the app and the device, would have to be corrupt
What would it take to implement something like it in the Coldcard?!
For example a simple key exchange function anyone can double check on the website? Obviously through airgaped microSD
Thanks, continue the great PoW & hodl on!
37EC7D7B0A217CDB4B4E007E7FAB114267E4FA04 is my key. You should be able to get it from any keyserver.
Hi thanks for answering
I now know where I F up...
I was looking for the key of the wrong Peter
🫣 fail
Thanks again
I still installed it as I found a old tutorial video where the key was visible and determined that that that would be a difficult and very long term attack to perform
Ah no.... Fuuuck
It's the wrong key!

nostr:npub1ej493cmun8y9h3082spg5uvt63jgtewneve526g7e2urca2afrxqm3ndrm where the heck do I find/doublecheck your PGP key?!
I'm no dev, but I'm doing my best to verify I'm downloading the genuine CC firmware update
For now I only found it in the coldcard.com/docs/upgrade/ guide... But if it would be the wrong site or have been corrupted so that I would have downloaded a bad firmware it wouldn't take a genius to also change the provided public_key
#help
Ah finally found it in Twi/X, very annoying without an'acc nowadays... Thanks to Nitter it worked
