For many reasons thinking of getting the fuck out of the UK.

I have family in Spain but I know they're clamping down on expats with 100% taxes on non citizens investing there etc.

Just thought about Madeira. And well... Any opinions? Advice? Anything? Nostrverse?

I'm in Porto in a month anyway so maybe I should go and check it out.

The idea of living on a bitcoin standard fills me with happiness. πŸ’—

right enough fucking about with pubs. time to make some music

love it. i was thinking about this the other day. i am emotionally retarded maybe that's why i like writing music 🫠

it's difficult to find anything at all on them now, they rebranded to 'Loupe' and then closed down during 2020 I think but they were on the path to becoming as important to boutique hotel operators as booking.com etc. at one stage. anyway. not important

ahhhhh yess.... event listings would be so cool! they wouldn't even need to know events they are adding to the site are being broadcast on nostr...

not sure if you ever came across the epicurean club. it sold for a few million to someone a few years ago and then was closed down, but it was basically a directory for hospitality that gained so much traction it accrued value... so... there is precedent for these things

i'd love to purple pill them while we're at it. what purpose are you imagining nostr serving in this context?

thanks mike πŸ«‚ or in the words of Hayek, this is our sly and round about way!

It gives me reason to focus on building SEO traction for the venue profiles, once the venues take notice I can then provide them a service of self managing. The vision emerges! πŸ‘οΈ

yeah, the directory thing I am building anyway... but if it actually served a purpose to the operators who don't even have websites, then they're getting a free service and they're providing a service of building out content and visibility of bitcoin amongst their entire customer base...

πŸ€” loads of the pubs being submitted to bitcoinpubcompany.com don't even have websites. they're very independent. It would be pretty trivial for me to build a platform for them to manage their own 'website' on bitcoinpubcompany.com – like this https://www.urbanpubsandbars.com/venues/the-antelope-tooting – but ... I know how these things go. There needs to be appetite for it from operators in order to warrant building it. Maybe I'll just build out venue profile pages that don't require them to self manage and then take it from there... That still builds seo traction for pubs accepting bitcoin...
