I can only smoke when I'm on fire

Honey crisp is good, I will use a medley of Fuji , Granny Smith , and either Jonah gold or Braeburn depending on the flavor profile I want , that Granny Smith really gives it a nice tart sour taste
If you use an apple juice or cider that has a preservative in it it will kill the yeast , you also don't want to use a concentrate it will work but it doesn't taste the same as if you fresh press the apples . Fortunately there are a lot of apples in my area and they are relatively inexpensive , I have also made Pineapple Cider which is really interesting because it tastes delicious but the combination of acid and alcohol on your tongue creates a very different kind of sensation I'm a fan of the flavor just not how it feels
in my younger day I worked for a Cooperage making barrels that were used for wine, saunas, and hot tubs . So I know how to do that part of it I also don't know how to toast a barrel . I have a friend that has distilled Spirits before and have aged my own bourbon I recently purchased a still and I'm going to try my hand at making bourbon and Tennessee whiskey
A lot of people don't realize that George Washington had one of the biggest distilleries in America he also didn't like competition LOL , but he also made Applejack which was one of the first hard alcohols consumed in America as well it is so easy to make and not very expensive back in the day lots of people grew fruit and could make different types of liqueurs and ciders out of it, it also has a lot of potential as during the holidays it can be warmed up a little bit with some cinnamon and Nutmeg which you can also add during the freezer distillation process to enhance flavors . You can also incorporate other things into it like pairs or berries . You should really look into it and give it a try you may find that you like making that , I also make something similar with apricots once you get the alcohol concentration up you can take some dehydrated apricots and put them in a jar and cover it with your liqueur and seal them up real good and store them in a dark place the apricots will soak up the alcohol and to someone who doesn't drink very often four or five of them will give them a buzz LOL but they do taste very good and they make a really good inexpensive holiday gift
Then you can freeze it and concentrate the alcohol
Yes indeed, it's easy to make, good apple juice, sugar, wine yeast
For me I like Gowan, I prefer pear cider although I don't like to eat pears because of the texture if you can't find that wyders is easy to find and reasonably priced it's especially good on tap, as far as apple cider is concerned I like Martinelli's everybody's getting into the hard beverage game , Two Towns also has a good apple cider , I typically like to make freezer Applejack if I'm going to have something Apple , Welch's makes a hard grape juice that is every bit as delicious as the grape juice we drink as kids
I'm new to the game, my son got a Irish whisky stout from Scotland, was descent, Im a cider guy typically
Any good?
