“La Concha” means the shell
(One from the beach, not one that is used in war)
This is the open air podium in the center of Alicante.
I wish they would have more performances here, because the setting is amazing.

That last sentence:
So very true…
“The old man pointed to a baker standing in his shop window at one corner of the plaza. ‘When he was a child, that man wanted to travel, too. But he decided to first buy his bakery and put some money aside. When he’s an old man, he’s going to spend a month in Africa. He never realized that people are capable, at any time in their lives, of doing what they dream of.’ “

Quote I just heard at the airport:
“Do you feel like going to Starbucks?”
“Starbucks always inspires sadness.”
I guess they won’t be going there then…
Happen to walk past this building which looked kind of cool with the trees in front of it.

Sometimes you have to get out and look up
(Photo taken at Explanada de España, Alicante, known for its mosaic tile floor)

It’s the short story (10min) of BURN-E, a maintenance bot on the same spaceship as Wall-E. It plays parallel to the WALL-E story. That’s why it is recommended to watch it after WALL-E
WALL-E-was a very good one.
And if you haven’t seen it: BURN-E is fun to watch right afterwards.
Yes, guilty!
I think 95% of the people who see this, recognize themselves.

“La Cara del Moro”
Once you see the face in the mountain, you cannot unsee it anymore. (Hint, the face is en-profile)
And the cool thing is that there is a citadel on top!

Not a bad place to be…

Unfortunately, only people who are into #pikminbloom know what Proof Of Work this represents…
It’s a whole lot of steps in the real world to get this puzzle completed.

You definitely should!
And with your hiking experience, this walk up will be a piece of cake. And still will give you amazing views as a reward 😎

(Santa Barbara castle, Alicante)

Talking about citadels: Alicante already has one…
This is Santa Barbara Castle at night. An impressive building that seems to grow out of the mountaintop.
The stories these walls would tell you…

It has to conjure up a story in the mind of the viewer
A true Dali (Saint Joan) stands in the town hall of Alicante.
Except… the story is that Dali did not have the money to pay the mould-maker his wages. In an unusual moment, the artist gave away the Saint Joan mould to the mould-maker as wages for his labour. The mould-maker later made this Saint Joan sculpture from Dali’s mould.
So far, I have not been able to either confirm or deny this m, but it makes for a great story.

The big trees are Australian Fig trees and they can become enormous. Quite a sight to see (see second photo).

For obvious reasons, everyone calls this street in Alicante ‘The Mushroom street’.
The story behind how these mushrooms came to be growing here is quite interesting. It was a desperate measure to attract people and businesses to a neglected and even dangerous area. It worked surprisingly well.

Seeing this post when ‘always look on the bright side of life’ by Monty Python is literally just starts playing on the background in a cafe I’m at.
“And now for something completely different” could not be more apt…
